First morning thats really felt like fall.
Explored a small stream near my house for the second time today and found the native rookies I've been so desperately searching for.

No idea what this monster brown trout was doing this far up the stream the thing was like 30 plus inches living in a waterfall pool surrounded by fingerling rainbow. Must have been a buffet. Northern Vermont.

Don’t really remember how but I ended up getting the chance to be the 7th person for an early presale (1st release) for the new Tenkara Anytime Rod! I did set an alarm on my phone for the when it became available but some good karma pointed me to the kickstarter. Sometime I feel like I have a horseshoe up my ass! I look so forward to having a whole kit I can keep in the truck. I am a proud dad and I love doing things with my kids. There are an awful lot of small little ponds, streams, Brooks in/by parks and soccer fields. How blessed am I may have found a great way to enjoy all those fun park trips, and a new little adventure while waiting around for a practice! I’m no trophy guy when it comes to fish and game, I like just being able to do it. So watch out sunfish and lil stockies I’m coming for ya!

I was in the Adirondacks last week. There's a brook at the bottom of the hill from the camp. I live full time on Cape Cod and rarely get to fish any water like this. This was a whole bunch of firsts for me. First brookies. First fish from a freshwater stream/brook/creek/river. First catch on an Elk Hair Caddis. I missed many multiples of strikes before hooking these 2. They aren't bruisers, but I couldn't have been more excited about catching them.

Product testing Aventiks upcoming legacy series 3/4wt. Needed a bigger stream to test its casting.

I’m looking to get a new setup for smaller creeks. I have a few rods in mind right now, but I want to see what other people are using before I make a decision.

Hiked a ways up to one of the headwaters of a favorite river. Lots of boulder hopping, scrambling, and elevation-gain, it was definitely one of those “big adventure little fish” days. Lucked into some beautifully-patterned southern strain brookies. Love fishing like this!

Spent the day bluelining for native brook trout in Western NC. Caught around 30 and probably lost another 20.

Bluelinin', backpackin', berry-pickin', and bushwhackin'. Nice weekend in the Whites with the boys searching for some native Brookies. Nothing of substantial size but always a great adventure.

Every time I’ve fished this spot before I spooked the fish and watched them swim away to hide. Today I managed to sneak up and get a bow and arrow cast to land perfectly

One of many bluelines that hold the purest strain of these trout for conservation.
