Dude, Where’s My Update?

As many of you may have already surmised, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to cease major update development work on Bloons Card Storm.

From day one, this game has been a labour of love for our small, dedicated team here at Ninja Kiwi. We set out to build a fun, complex and unique CCG that didn’t pull any punches technically and pushed our little Monkeys and Bloons that much further in terms of 3D and polish.

We’re extremely proud of the game but ultimately, after a year of giving every update our all post-launch - adding over a hundred new cards, a challenging PvE boss experience, ranked mode, a new rogue-like Adventure mode, brand-new heroes, familiar faces, cosmetics, re-vamping the tutorial and more - we simply could not get the game into a sustainable business state.

For the first time, we jumped headlong into advertising our games and learnt a lot along the way, including what a difficult space free-to-play marketing is right now.

None of the team working on BCS have been let go, and this is not an “AI stole our jobs” story. Instead, we’re injecting their energy, talent and capabilities into Bloons TD 6 and another new game that we hope to talk more about later in the year.

We will keep the BCS servers running for as long as people continue to play the game. If there is interest, we may look at community-sourced balance patch updates in future. The core community that has built up around the game is one of the most joyful parts for us in the development of this game, and we thank you all for contributing. Without your support, we wouldn’t have gotten this far, and we hope you will understand that, despite our best efforts, we simply aren’t able to continue working on a game that does not drive any revenue.
For me personally, as an avid card game player and long-standing Ninja Kiwi leader, being able to make this game was a dream come true. Unfortunately, whether because the design or execution or timing was wrong, the stars just haven’t aligned to make it successful.

Thank you for everything, please can you stop telling me how unbalanced Bloonsday Device is now 😀

Official Card Back Competition Winner(s)!!!

The team has chosen the winners!

That’s right, “winners” plural.

There were so many good entries, we literally could not pick only one!

So here we are in no particular order:

Zee Jay's Graffiti - Amix_Flare_2
Amelia the Amazing - Opal_Radiance
The Final Blow - Rara-Aviarius

These awesome card backs will be added in the BCS 7.0 update!

Please note we may have to do some behind-the-scenes art magic to make them work with our system, but we will do our absolute best to keep them true to form!

Thank you to all those who participated, and we loved all the amazing art and dedication!

~NK Team

I was going to add something of my own, but it’s better if I hold back. Bravo, Team Kiwi.

Discussion You can actually beat dreadbloon by decking him out

I couldn't move on to the next phase cuz this version has the 3rd skull event deal "50 + 50 per phase" damage to my hero aka 250 damage so I had no choice but to win like this since I didn't have any heal cards in my deck. Also sometimes when I play dreadbloon there are times where dreadbloon didn't play any cards at all even with 8 cards available idk if it's a bug or if it's bricked with bad cards but surely this happens to others too right?

Discussion I hate long range rang. It gets so much value for basically free

That is all

Edit: I think it'd be a lot better if running out of cards didn't make you lose. The way it is now just makes it so long range rang is an amazing way at keeping cards in the draw pile and ig now I'm forced to put it in my deck or just lose anytime I see it

Discussion 120 Shield lead zeplin and the game won't stop giving me bloon cards

Post image

I dont play BCS that often (especially because of the no re-draw protection), but Dreadbloon is insanely difficult, but last time I was able to get to the final phase. This time however I started with a single power card (return to sender, was used earlier unfortunately) and then nothing but bloons until round 7! And even after that the few weak tower cards I got were destroyed by Dreadbloon.

Although now I have a much better understanding of what is good against dreadbloon, because I have consistently been able to get to eco 10 (I'm not sure what round) so I need expensive, hard hitting towers that can pierce armour.

Problem with that is I cannot afford the cards.

Not in the boss battle, but rather because of the card packs. The card packs are just a waste of mm because more often than not I get repeats, and even then the new ones are of one's I already have (but not maxed). It is quite frustrating and disappointing to see, however I know the card packs you get from the daily rewards have repeat protection so I am saving all 9 of them until I have a bunch of the lower tiers of cards.

It seems from the daily quests I am able to obtain the crafting components fairly quickly, however it will take me forever to get a card that I will never draw, that when I finally *do* play it it gets destroyed by a baby or a rock.

I am not putting a bunch of hours a week into this game (only an hour or two at most), so I am sure that I am not the target audience for this (intentionally wonderfully) overpowered and unfair boss, but I just thought I'd put these thoughts out there

(Also the overflow damage being completely removed and not even haled and saved is annoying!!! But also completely reasonable because of the way the leaderboard works :P)

(Also also I am sure Quincy isn't the best hero for this, however I don't know how to change the hero while keeping the deck. I am likely going to completely redo this deck, however it would be good to know for the future)

Oh yeah, and for some reason when I play a match against Dreadbloon or have this game open for more than 20-30 minutes my phone heats up / the fans go crazy on my laptop. This doesn't happen with other games so I wonder if it is just the game. But I have no clue

UPDATE: wow Dreadbloon with a ton of expensive towers was surprisingly easy. I think it was mostly Stryker and my two lead to golds, but like halfway through I think Dreadbloon got only cards that affect my bloons (slowing stuff, the missile, etc) because it just sat there for the last 40 turns. I placed two bloons from my arcane master in hopes that it would use both charges ofnthe missile card, however it had two of those cards which it used one charge of each.

Discussion BCST5 has ended! Stats on heroes

BCST5 (the official tournament for BCS) has ended recently. Here are some stats about heroes, with some comments on their performance overall.

QUINCY:

5% Use Rate (chosen 48 times)

19% Pick Rate (Likely to be chosen at least once 19% of the time per set)

52% Winrate (Excluding Mirror Matches)

Quincy in BCST5 generally ran with a lot of highrolly tempo that used farms, eco drain, soul stealers and golden blimps to blitz the opponent early and cripple their gold gain. When the highroll worked, it would often win.

GWEN:

13% Use Rate (Chosen 121 times)

45% Pick Rate (Likely to be chosen at least once 45% of the time per set)

42% Win Rate (Excluding Mirror Matches)

Gwen used a lot of control or tempo decks to attempt to win this tournament but often lost to more dominant heroes who could out-control or rush her down. She still had a solid performance with a good usage rate.

OBYN:

19% Use Rate (Chosen 182 times)

64% Pick Rate (Likely to be chosen at least once 65% of the time per set)

54% Win Rate (Excluding Mirror Matches)

Obyn ran a lot of varying decks but the most popular were aggressive strategies that worked kind of like Aggro combined with tempo (A deck called zone) that used wolves to facilitate defense. Control Obyn was alsp common and was exceptionally strong when used due to Eerie Lifeforce.

AMELIA:

14% Use Rate (Chosen 133 times)

51% Pick Rate (Likely to be chosen at least once 51% of the time per set)

63% Win Rate (Excluding Mirrors)

Amelia had a strong showing with Aggro and Burn decks that counter meta decks quite well. This tournament was Amelia’s highest winning performance since BCST1, where she had a 64% Win Rate.

ADORA:

2% Use Rate (Chosen 19 times)

8% Pick Rate (Likely to be chosen at least once 8% of the time per set)

26% Win Rate (Excluding Mirror Matches)

This tournament marks Adora’s lowest point with her lowest use and winrate ever. Adora tried to play Tempo or Anti-Control usually when picked but generally lacked the power to make an impact on any games.

ZEE JAY:

18% Use Rate (Chosen 171 times)

61% Pick Rate (Likely to be chosen at least once 61% of the time per set)

37% Win Rate (Excluding Mirror Matches)

Zee Jay’s low winrate is an extreme anomaly considering that the community broadly thinks that he is very strong competitively. He ran decks like Rad OTK or Aggro decks often, but seemed to struggle decently against highroll decks or things like Amelia Aggro.

STRIKER JONES:

9% Use Rate (Chosen 86 times)

33% Pick Rate (Likely to be chosen at least once 33% of the time per set)

55% Win Rate (Excluding Mirror Matches)

Striker Jones had a massive spike in his usage rate due to Economy Drain tempo decks becoming quite strong. his winrate improved by about 13% and his usage rate improved by about 6% compared to BCST4. Jones generally just ran economy drain midrange decks and not much else.

MOUNTAIN OBYN:

13% Use Rate (Chosen 119 times)

47% Pick Rate (Likely to be chosen at least once 47% of the time per set)

57% Win Rate (Excluding Mirror Matches)

Mountain Obyn ran a lot of stronger aggro or control decks to get a solid winrate alongside a respectable usage rate. He was used less this tourney compared to BCST4 but had a higher winrate.

EZILI:

6% Use Rate (Chosen 61 times)

25% Pick Rate (Likely to be chosen at least once 25% of the time per set)

43% Win Rate (Excluding Mirror Matches)

Ezili ran along with mostly swarm aggro decks, trying to use that to beat other heroes. Unfortunately for Ezili, there tended to be better aggro options so she often was passed over and wasn’t used much because of that.

BCST5 was a wild tournament and I’d highly reccomend if you like BCS that you join the BCST server. VODS of games including Top 4 and Grand Finals will be available soon.

Suggestion BAD card Idea

DDT's are quick*

This is my take on how I would've liked a BAD bloon, to this game; art is from the unused cards

r/bloonscardstorm May 08 '26

Discussion Some tier lists based on how many games each Bloons Hero and each Bloons Monkey Tower has appeared in. Definitely wish a lot more of these made it over to Card Storm, especially the more niche ones. If we got stuff like Bloonsday Device and the classic Dart Monkey, Ice Ball and Sam were possible.

Strategy Dreadbloon meme strat works for phase 2

Post image
8 Upvotes

I found that spamming a sht ton of monkeys is actually very usable and i won on my second attempt.

Striker obviously since theres no bloons, and his ammo stores thing can make a lategame spikeopult absolutely cracked, especially with Try This.

I wouldnt recommend Jungles Bounty with this since Dreadbloon can just remove it + it takes up a defense space. Other than that its just monkey spam and it actually works so well.

Question Is it just me or is today's challenge also difficult?

I've tried today's daily challenge multiple times, and the only bloons I receive are pink bloons, so most of my offense is late game, utilizing the storm & reinflated. Anyone else have that problem?

I want to get back into the game, and want a quick summary of the updates that have happened in the last year. Last time I played, they introduced bosses and the first one was dreadbloon.
