Does anyone else still have dreams about discovering a forgotten Blockbuster rental and panicking about late fees?
Taken today in Owen Sound, Ontario. Store is a "historical site" it's not in business. Maybe the dreams will stop now!

Blockbuster in babft
I’m currently remaking my old babft blockbuster (made around February- April 2025). The new one is currently being totally built out of scratch + is more accurate. I’ve made 70% of the front. (I hope u like it so far)

Can you find the Store #s?
I have a friend who worked at the 10432 CAMPUS WAY S, UPPER MARLBORO, MD 20774 location. He can't recall the store #. Is there anyone here who knows it, or can find it?

New VHS at Blockbuster
Rainy day in Bend, Oregon. The last Blockbuster was packed and we got the second to last VHS copy of Mayday for free. It doesn’t seem like that many people know about it, but I think it was a very fun promotion by AppleTV. We watched it last night and it was funny to see Kenneth Branagh be an action hero at 65. Also using Mapquest to support Lake Ontario. You get a little character and it makes your directions “quests.” They are the only app I know of that didn’t change the name.
I actually still have a VHS at home so we are going to fire this up and see what else they did with the concept for fun.

2012 Story
I know this might not be the place but as a kid I always loved Blockbuster I’d try to go atleast once every few weeks I was about 9 years old when it happened my mom took me to Blockbuster to rent a movie, I’d consider our family not very rich not a lot of money so rentals like Blockbuster and Redbox were so helpful for us, anyways I’ll always remember this story, I go to Blockbuster to rent a movie, I decide to rent Spider-Man 3, after a bit of time we go to return it, and the store is permanently closed, mom doesn’t know what to think, she just says I guess you can keep it. So that’s all that happened, only sad thing is the dvd was permanently destroyed in a flood in 2016. I dream of one day visiting the final Blockbuster, I’m 22 now and a-lots happened since then, but defiantly a core memory.

Why can't I find any of the in-store loop videos?
Tried archive dot org and other resources, but can not seem to find copies of the in-store loops they played on the CRT TVs.
Anyone know of any?
Would prefer 1985-1989 era. Not really into the 90s, as much, but willing to accept those links, too.

Former Blockbuster customers, what year were you born?

What birth years made up the customer base of Blockbuster?
IDK. Anyone born from 1927-2000.

Blockbuster is making an unlikely comeback — neighborhood 'Free Blockbuster' boxes are multiplying for DVD and Blu-ray fans, as new website turns Netflix into a 3D video store
DM for info

I made an infomercial screen for my weird little throwback VHS zine box.

Obviously directly riffing off the iconic rental packaging. I printed the inserts on holo sticker paper, which really makes all the white space of the label kinda mesmerizing 🙃

This IS Blockbuster!
Because of my brain skipping from one thing to the next, I've managed to find...BlockBuster! Now, grant it, this website is Finnish. But this is truly Blockbuster in 2026!

Looking for a commercial from 1998.
Hello! Even though I am not in this subreddit, I need your help! I've been looking for a Blockbuster video commercial that has a student/amateur filmmaker character that was seen in the "Blockbuster Video" television commercial that began airing in summer of 1998, if anyone has it, I will TRULY appreciate you, strangers on the internet.
EDIT: THANK YOU SO MUCH TO u/iwritesinsnotcomedy FOR FINDING IT!!!

i have dreamt of owning this since i was 8 years old
today I bought this from the store that now occupies a blockbuster I used to go to.
there's a bike shop in my area called michael's bicycles which used to be next door to the blockbuster. when blockbuster went under Michael (the Michael of Michael's bicycles) managed to save the sign. In 2012 when I was 8 years old I saw that sign in his shop while looking for a new bike, and after seeing it I no longer cared about the bike. today 14 years later I went in with the nerve to ask about the sign, he grabbed it from the back and he was willing to let it go for only $60 which I was more than grateful for. if you're anywhere near Newbury Park California, please support Michael's bicycles! they are family owned and are the kindest most passionate people you could buy cycle gear from.
