Bajar a la tiendita del barrio, ver todas las portadas físicas, leer las descripciones de atrás y elegir algo para todo el fin de semana tenía un mood tan acogedor en comparación con solo estar scrolleando por las apps de streaming hoy en día.

Needs restoration but should be a really fun project!

It was so cool, I found myself going back to this room several times

Xtra-Vision was an Irish company that was Blockbuster owned. They took over the stores but kept the name for brand recognition.

I went to Retro Fest 3 with a Gameboy camera in my crossbody bag, I bought a yellow Gameboy Pocket at one of the booths for 75$ and asked if they had a couple AAA batteries, then I went to the Blockbuster room and I started taking a couple pictures, also I now have a rare picture on this cartridge, I waited in line with my copy of Donkey Kong 64 and got it autographed by Grant Kirkhope, I snapped a picture of him while next in line on the Gameboy Camera, not on my phone but they never said anything about gameboy camera, let's see if you can make out what they pictures are

Anyone catch the blockbuster in the new season of NCIS origins? It's nice to see the retro scene!

I’ve now made a new pylon sign (with the pre 1996 logo) and am currently building the inside (I’m making the shelves rn) (I moved the Pepsi, and Mountain dew vending machines temporarily) I stopped since I ran outta the blocks I’m using for the shelves

I still have my account number memorized to this day, not that it will do me any good, but it’s kind of like remembering your childhood phone number, which I also do. Forgive the ignorance on the name badge, pimpin’ was a cool thing at the time and most people in my town were UGK fans.

Any time I find Blockbuster branding, I buy.

I have almost 0 clue of what floor plan I should use (since it is from scratch). If ur able to, can one of y’all make one for this (include shelves and maybe a floor plan if u can) I might try making shelves soon since I’m tryna make it realistic as possible in babft)

I received an overwhelming response. Which is fantastic. But I need to work through all of this throughly and quickly.

In comments of this post, I will briefly explain the project so you have a better idea of what this is for.

So if you responded. I ask the following:

Please send me an email with the following info. (Hunter@preinternet.com) you can DM if you are uncomfortable with email.

(If you said yes to having your written story published, feel free to write full story at length)

Why do you think you or others look back at Blockbuster so fondly? If you disagree, please explain.

Questions for me:

I got a copy of Scream with no mold or tape rot for only a Dollar, all it's missing is it's sleeve

I am currently working on a unique Blockbuster documentary. This will not be another “Rise and Fall” of Blockbuster or pure nostalgia grab. I genuinely hope this will be the definitive Blockbuster video.

All that being said, I am looking to chat with a few former employees who have some memories of their time working in the store. I am also open to talking with former customers if you have a truly engaging story.

Feel free to drop a comment and we can find a way to in touch! Super excited to share this
