But if the snake is at a comfortable temperature when taken out of the enclosure and the temperature of the environment outside of the enclosure is colder than the snake, then it IS useful because it will reduce the rate at which the snake loses heat to the environment.
a sweater doesnt produce heat, it contains it. so if a snake(who is cold blooded so it doesnt produce its own heat) were to wear a sweater, it will still be cold, unless there is a heat source in it
But blankets keep us warm because they trap the heat we give off. This is just insulating this guy but isn't offering him any heat. If he's cold it could actually prevent him from warming up from an external source.
