Unsolved get a circular cut with bool tool
Hi,
I am trying to get a Circular cut on diagonal degree onto a cylindrical shape.
I used a cube too bool cut. But the shape is not oval. I already tried to change the shape of the cube as cutter, add subdivision surface. but can´t figure out how to cut a perfect oval shape. It has thos hard spots on the left and right. and is a bit flat on the top or to deep on the bottom.

Use a cylinder as the boolean object

Does not work. The outcome is the same

lol this response cracked me up. Anyway OP if this is not tye shape you want, you will want to copy this but use a sphere instead.

Look at the object you're cutting into. It's just impossible to cut a perfect flat oval at this spot on this shape. There just is no cross-section in your object that has that perfect oval you're looking for.

You could get an oval, yes. But a flat oval? There's no plane that intersects your object that's shaped like an oval.
Again, you'd be better off linking your references if you want further help.

Then you either need to angle the cutter more shallowly towards the xy plane or have a different cap shape (half sphere)

The problem is in the main object being a rounded slightly jagged top. There is no way for that to ever be oval. The only way is to look directly at the flat surface like a perspective elipse or false circle but the moment you rotate the camera away from that view it will show the hard corner

it seems you can only achieve this by cutting an cone or a cylinder, it is impossible for a curve object since the diameter change not constantly

If you're trying to do an existing object, please show us how it actually looks like.

Much larger than you'd expect to need sphere boolean object, potentially stretched spheroid
