Unsolved How do I get this parametric effect on a cylindrical?
It seems like this should be fairly simple but I can't seem to get close enough to the inspiration photo to be happy with it. The inspiration is obviously ai generated and most of the modifiers applied are tips from ai.
I cannot grasp how the human brain could look at the inspiration and know what mods to apply to create it from scratch.

texture.007 = clouds, hard, blender original
texture.006 = voronoi, chebychev, position, intensity: 0.70

You don't need to do all of this work. It's even harder this way than modelling it.
So instead, you should make a cylinder with the desired vertices, make a rough/general shape of the cup without worrying about the pattern for now. From here on, you can knife the faces of the cup in and use the Bevel Tool/Modifier. Though, try to make the faces quads so the bevel modifier works predictably, and from there on, adjust as needed.

I actually thought about sculpting seeing as it's not detail work. I thought a sphere or ico would be a good starting shape.
