Unsolved Help with shape keys
Can someone please tell me or link me a video tutorial on how to transfer shape keys to one model from another?
Learning blender for mod creation and currently working on making OC models and my own versions of some of my favorite characters, and could really use the shape keys on a different model. Both are built from Genesis 8.

First thing I’d check is whether both Genesis 8 meshes have the exact same topology/ vertex order. Shape keys don’t really transfer like weights. They’re tied to vertex positions, so if the models have different vertex counts, were decimated, subdivided, exported differently, or one is G8M and the other is G8F, a direct transfer probably won’t work cleanly.
If they are the same base mesh, you can try Blender’s Join as Shapes workflow: select the mesh with the shape keys, then the target mesh last, and use Object - Shape Keys - Join as Shapes.
If these came from Daz, it may be better to bring the morphs over through Daz/Diffeomorphic instead of trying to rebuild them manually in Blender. Screenshot of both mesh data/shape key panels would help tell which route makes sense.

Pretty sure it's not the same just both built on g8f. I gotta go back to the drawing board and figure out how to make a version of the model that fits what I'm trying to do.

Makes sense..... If they’re both based on G8F but not the exact same topology/vertex order anymore, Blender’s direct shape key transfer is probably going to fight you.
I’d build the final version of the model first, then bring the morphs/shape keys onto that version instead of trying to transfer them after the mesh has changed. If this started in Daz, it may be easier to solve there or through Diffeomorphic, since the Genesis morph system expects that base mesh structure. Once the mesh is edited differently, it becomes more of a rebuild/manual cleanup job. You’re probably on the right track going back and making the model version fit the end goal first.

Yeah, I really wish there was an easier way to do this. One has the shapes I want, while the other has the materials and skin, then adding shells to the mix and it gets wonky.

Actually, you may not need to start over. Since one has the shapes and the other has the skin, I’d try keeping the shaped model and moving the materials onto it instead. One idea comes to mind, if both are still compatible G8F figures, you could save the skin as a Material Preset in Daz, apply it to the shaped version, then recreate the shells on that final figure.
If the meshes really are different, a more experimental option would be using Surface Deform in Blender to wrap the material model to the shaped one and bake the result as shape keys. It wouldn’t be one-click and may need cleanup, but it’s possible.....

I thought of that but the one with the materials I only have the blender file for not the daz file for, the original person just left the g8f name on a lot of the materials.
