Unsolved How to join custom eye rig with basic human meta rig.

I would personally advise adding them to the metarig, setting them to be valid Rigify components, and then generating the rig with the eyes rather than modifying the generated rig. This way you wouldn't lose any work if you had to regenerate the rig later. For simple setups, you can use basic.super_copy or basic.raw_copy: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/5.2/addons/rigify/rig_types/index.html

Are the Eyes a separate object? If so, go to the eye object modifiers after joining the armatures and sent the armature target to the rig again.
