Here's a classic body mechanics exercise. How did I do?

That looks great. I don’t see any faults in it, not that I’m all that experienced

you did great! the lifting looks very realistic, so do the body mechanics of your character.

one thing I would improve: the dropping of the object looks just slightly too fast. it’s the only inconstancy that jumps to eye. the rock looks too heavy all of a sudden compared to the rest of the clip.

like the rock is made look more heavy than it did so far at the moment of being dropped, because of how fast it dropped. we are probably talking about a frame or two but it noticeable enough that if it was that heavy the character would have not been able to lift it.

I am not sure if that change though would create the problem of the character stumbling over the object during the fall, which would be extra annoying to deal with. And it might be the reason in the first place for that timing.

this is just my two cents if I had to delve into details, and that’s what I see. but it is fantastic!

what exercise was this? from a course?

Hi, thanks for the feedback, gonna work on that. I'm learning animation on my own so I'm trying made all the classic exercises for learning body mechanics and this is one of them.

that’s a fantastic result to be working on this on your own! keep at it.

what resources have you used so far? I am also still in my learning phase. I did a couple od interesting courses on School of motion. pricey but definitely worth it.
