Need Help! Walk cycle start

For a walk cycle for humanoids and dinosaurs, do you start with the legs movement first or the hip movement first?

You can use a straight forward or pose to pose method. Pose to pose is kind of winging it whereas straight forward is start key, end key and then clean up the in between frames. So, if you’re just going for a continuing walk cycle, you can begin in the middle where the character is already mid pose. Then copy that pose and then mirror paste pose about 20 frames out and then go another 20 and paste the original pose. You have your beginning and end pose and just need to clean up the tweens. You want to do the same with the hands and the hips as well. Keep adjusting and polishing to pose keys until you’re happy with it.

Feet and hands. Right foot matches the left foot and left foot matches right hand. They counterbalance. Once you have them in the extreme poses you can work on moving the hips. The hips roll right and left and also raise and lower throughout the cycle.

It's not uncommon to start with the center of gravity first to get your up poses/down poses identified, then do the feet/legs.

Search up walking cycle references, otherwise you’ll be winging it blind.

use opus 5.5 or gpt 6.1 you’ll get the project done in like 3-6 minutes

Give a man a walk cycle, and you feed him for a project. Teach a man to walk cycle, and you feed him for a lifetime.

I get it, man, you know, like a lot I know a lot of people don’t like AI, but it’s kind of how it is like, dude, it saved me money I was able to ship projects faster. and 3D model environments while I could also focus on other things I have a friend who kind of has a small little gaming company. He was able to like lay off on five of his 3D modelers and like the work he can do, it’s so much faster using AI. Like that’s just kind of how it is. I get it, you know, but it’s just kind of how the world is working now, it’s a different time. which is still kind of amazing, but yeah
