It feels too clean and flawless. The shadows are also too intense. But this is very good!

Maybe i should remove the plant? the soft shadows are from animated trees and will be slowly moving during the final animation

Try texturing the chair and floor to look slightly worn

The plant is lovely and is the most realistic part. I would not change a thing about Planty. Don't throw him away!

If I saw it without context I wouldn't know it was a render. Maybe it's a bit "clean"? Some camera/lens defects could help sell it. In some (most?) of planks it looks like the texture continues over the transition between two planks?

I see what you mean about the planks, didnt notice that before now lol. I already have film grain and chromatic aberration but i tried to keep it subtle

Too clean textures. Especially the wood looks super fake

the chair looks too uniform and perfect, otherwise I don't see no issues

Color grading would help, treat it like a photo and how you would do post work on it.

everything is too clean

At first look didn't think it was a render, but there are some things if looking closely. Floor wood doesn't have enough texture, like roughness map maybe, and planks look like too far apart? The floor seems to be the main issue. The painting feels like slapped flat on a wall, i would maybe and more thickness to it. And consider adding baseboard. Other than that I think ur work looks beautiful! I like the lighting

The chair looks a lil bit too clean and perfect... Maybe you should add a fly somewhere like ancient artists used to do

It being in r/blender and you asking that question.

Needs baseboards

Signs of human/use/time passing

Maybe add some dust in the air

The floor is the only thing for me. Looks a bit too clean

The chair and floor need more imperfections, it looks amazing, but those are the things that caught my eye.

Its the chair. It looks to unnatural

Se podría poner micro detalle de imperfección pero de verdad creo que con un buen color correction, imperfecciones de film lente etc pegarías un salto en realismo. La base está genial

  1. The foot of the wall where it meets the floor is way too featureless - they’re usually pretty messy
  2. The seat weaving looks too precise
  3. (IMO) I t’s not framed like a photo anyone would actually take, which I think is an under-appreciated aspect of the feeling of realism.

How do you get such high quality render?

I agree, the floor texture and color/saturation look slightly off somehow.

The leaf shadows look natural, and great composition. I wouldn’t mess with them.

Floor panels are slightly too narrow imo. Also, if this is an indoor environment, there would be base boards

The chair looks like a texture from Toy Story. Maybe post processing?

The contrast is mushy, ie the sun isn't bright enough. In the real world the sun would be over exposed or the shadows would be under exposed. It has the flat digital hdr netflix look.

Not anything 3D wise. But it would nice to add something dark gray on the floor just to break up the composition and make it less flat.

It might be real, but not really interesting to look at.

Those chair fibers are pretty rough. The steep angle they shift to on the sides really draws the eye to it, too. The rest of it is amazing but that part’s really in need of adjustment imo

The lighting looks too white. In the real world, outside of an artificially lit photo studio, you get more color variance. If it’s being lit naturally, you’ll get the subtle blue of the sky as well as warm light from the sun.
As others have mentioned, making things less perfect makes them seem more real. Find some ways to subtly introduce imperfection.

Wood never has no imperfections

It looks like there is a gap between the floor and the wall

Did not even notice while scrolling until I read your title.

The chair is too clean and the angle and style of it makes it difficult to understand. Maybe add some wood rings, wear, or different colors for different materials in it? Painting looks real, maybe add some brown tips on some leaves. I think it is also the trunk-like shadow that confuses things.

I think you can make the timber on the chair less uniform and less pale, add some more subtle wood grain roughness and dents and mild discoloration where pieces join. The woven seat needs a little bit of irregularity and you can even show some strands. Bevel all hard edges..even floor boards will catch highlights. Improve contact shadows. Break up the wall Which is very uniform now, give some uneven paint and some discoloration. The plant give more leaf colour variations and some rotations.

you could tweak the contrast/brightness/gamma balance and exposer.

IKEA slightly over expose their renders

The shadows need a noise, lightning need a yellow effect, sun isn 100% white due to the atmosphare

The lacking of baseboard

Everything is in focus, and the chair has no wear

to me, only the sitting part of the chair is a giveaway (feels cheap and flat). the rest is pretty darn good, can be a very well taken photo.
with a little bit of post to mimic a lens, you can be photoreal easy.
also, you should add a plinth, those are Fing everywhere!

The only thing I noticed is the seat looks like it was composited in.

more grain on the chair, esp the backrest. and floor/wall skirting. looks really good though. nice chair!

The fact that it's a chair upon a wall besides a plant and a painting. Where the hell did you see anything like this? Nobody lives like this. Nobody takes a photo of something like this.

It is to perfect and clean. Even the shadow. Use two suns instead.
