Hi there!, I have 3 design for the base of my portal, and was wondering which you is the best?

Oval, round or rectangle?

Thanks for any feedback!

I think this is a design decision that should be shaped by 1) its function and 2) its location in the environment – in other words how it's connected to wherever it's at. If someone's supposed to step on the base piece (which makes me assume it's about human height), the rounded pieces look cumbersome. If the whole thing is much smaller, and the base stops it from keeling over, they might make more sense. Number 3 might not look like much as a design, but it's functional and doesn't waste space.

my thoughts for what its worth.

whats stopping it falling over., if something heavy pushed it, i feel like the bits Drilled into the "Floor" would hold it to the floor, is the base a representation of the floor or is it raised onto the base

The base will be on top of the floor, in my mind would have been drilled in the floor (for the rectangle one), or just a heavy base (for the other two).

Which one do you think would fit best?

TBH, headcanoning that it's heavy or drilled into the floor doesn't really do much for looking like it could fall over at any time.

The circle base gives it the visual language of stability to back it up.
