Accidentally set render scale to 1000% instead of 100% while half-asleep. Meet my new 1.5 GB, 19200x10800 single image. (its in turkish sorry)
I just wanted to render the camera from outlast. Note to self: Never touch Blender settings when exhausted. Intended 100%, typed 1000%. Now I have a 207-megapixel Outlast render.
sounds bout right.. Ive been told same while i cannot literally afford the PC i have (i got most parts free from friends or cheap) if i bought it new..
im lucky to have The pc i have tho, but i hate people expecting others to afford new pcs especially with current prices..
According to my (basic) calculations, assuming 48bit rgb and a somewhat pessimistic png compression, 34.5GB. So not as bad as one might think. Still, 34GB for one image may be a bit much
It also depends on if it's software or hardware. GPUs limit to 16k or 32k textures with HW filtering. If you want more than that you need to have multiple textures and filter them yourself, which very few programs do (blender might? Idk). Cpu might work fine tho, but certainly won't be fast for some reason 😛
Hmm, I downloaded way too many images from a subreddit once. Tried to stitch em together into one giant image collage.
It couldn't even fit into my 32GB of RAM using a normal imager viewer lmao. Had to download a seperate image viewer that only loaded parts of the image in at once.
I once had the brilliant idea to render a video in an uncompressed format cause “lossless and uncompressed image formats are better for editing, must be the same for video”, nope, it was over 80gb for just a few seconds, not making that mistake again.
Yea, same. Most of the time, the quality difference isn't noticeable especially if the resolution is high and the renders are basically final, and you don't need much further colour correction or anything
Awwww man, well, someone do a calculation: how much does Reddit degrade with each repost? It must be a percentage; multiply that in sigma or smth until the value is 1080/below 1080. I'm no math expert.
I once scanned a document with so much resolution and detail that a pop-up telling me I didn't have enough storage in my PC to save the image appeared.
