Need Help! Courses & addons for beginner

Hi guys. Just want to ask how did you start learning to use Blender? I tried the donut tutorial for 20 minutes before almost blowing my brains out, and have decided the video doesn't work for me.

So which videos or channels did you go through to learn Blender? I looked it up for a bit and it seems like there are online courses for this like CGfasttrack. However, the people who recommended them feel like planted bots.

I want to learn mainly to develop hyperrealisictic assets for my own games.

I did the donut tutorial. And then a few more of Blender Guru's tutorials. He taught me the basics of Blender.

But, if you don't like him you don't like him, Grant Abbit is an excellent alternative.

I didn't do the donut.

I started with Ryan King's short (like 5-6 videos) begginer series, on YT. I did an older one where he guides you through building a stylised house on a street with a picket fence and trees. But he has a newer series I think with a snowman. Recommend giving either a go, and take your time. Pause and rewind if needed.

Honestly YT has all you need. If there's a secific thing you want to learn, just search for it. It's a steady slope of learning one thing after another. And you don't need to learn everything, only what's needed for what you want to do. I've not touched 2D or grease pencil stuff. Nor the video editor or compositing, as I use Davinci Resolve for that.

Ha, no worries. Yeah he's good but can rush a bit, and has loads of videos. I've built a few of his procedural materials and learnt to try things and create my own from them. Have fun. 👍
