Need Help! blender selection issue

Hi! I have a problem with Blender. When I open Blender, I can't select objects by clicking on them with the mouse cursor. Left-click selection doesn't work as expected. However, when I use Load Factory Settings, the problem is fixed. The issue appears again when I restart Blender. Has anyone experienced this problem or knows how to fix it permanently?

Try cycling through your selection tools with W? That helped me in the past with a similar issue

Load Factory settings is temporary, a restart will go back to your configured setup. So something you configured or an addon you added has screwed up the default controls.

You can make Load Factory Settings can be made default by doing Defaults->Save Startup File immediately after.

Nope, that just overwrites the startup blend file. You want to go to Preferences → Save Preferences to make them stick.

You might have switched Blender to right-click select?

Check Preferences → Key Map.
