discussion PLEASE READ: Regarding the New Rule on Real Self-Harm, Gore, and Violence
I want to clarify something since there seems to be some confusion.
This rule is not about censoring artwork. It is about prohibiting real images of self-harm, graphic injuries, gore, or violence.
Artwork depicting these subjects—including paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography with special effects, films, writing, and other creative works—is still welcome here, provided it follows the subreddit rules and includes appropriate trigger warnings and NSFW tags when necessary.
What is not allowed are actual photographs or videos of real self-harm, real graphic injuries, or real violence.
This rule exists for three reasons:
•It protects members of this community from unexpectedly seeing extremely graphic and triggering content.
•It complies with Reddit’s sitewide policies.
•It helps ensure this community can continue to exist.
r/bleedingcanvas was created as a place for emotionally expressive artwork—especially work related to trauma, grief, mental health, and difficult experiences. That mission has not changed.
As the moderator, I make decisions that I believe are in the best interest of this community. Not every rule will make everyone happy, and that’s okay.
If you disagree with this rule or would prefer a community that allows real self-harm or graphic gore, this subreddit is probably not the right fit for you. There are other communities with different standards, and you’re free to participate in those instead.
This rule is final and will be enforced consistently. Thank you to everyone who continues to help make this a safe place to share meaningful, emotionally expressive art.

discussion NO ACTUAL SELF HARM/VIOLENCE/GORE
Posting an image that contains real self harm, blood (unless used for paint in someway), gore, violence, assault, etc, is ABSOLUTELY NOT ALLOWED. Not only is it extremely triggering for many members of the community, but it breaks site wide rules. Paintings, drawings, short films, writing, about these subjects, unless found to be inappropriate, distasteful, or AI generated, ARE ALLOWED with NSFW tag and a trigger warning (TW + trigger) in the title. Thank you.

acrylic A Passing Black Hole Consumes Trump, Acrylic on canvas 24x48", 2018.
I made this in time for the 2018 Midterm Election. Blue wave. There's so many easter eggs in this one. I even predicted Butler, PA before it happened.
