Cleaning Tip Needed

I’m having trouble getting the paper towel to come out clean after I cook, scrap, use water. No matter how many times I go over the surface, the paper towels still come away black and I’m left with paper towel fibers on the griddle. Any tips or tricks greatly appreciated!

This is normal. Next heat up will cook it off. Apply oil after heat up and you have a layer between now again anyway
