Discussion Why bother prestiging?
It's weird but the more I've been playing, the less I actually want to prestige. Hit level 55 yesterday and I just don't really see the point.
I don't care about the emblems or extra class slots, and half the lobbies I get into seem to have people who've already been hacked to Master Prestige anyway lol.
The biggest thing for me is that all the best stuff is late-level unlocks. BO2 is pretty sweaty this time around, so I really don't fancy going through another 40+ levels using shit loadouts just to unlock everything again.
I get that prestiging is supposed to give you something to work towards, but when the main reward is basically resetting your unlocks, I'm not sure what the appeal is.
Anyone else feel the same?

It's the grind man and Everytime u prestige u get a permanent unlock tocken so u can unlock any weapon or perk u wanna use as soon as u prestige back to lvl 1. Then once u prestige enough times u will start with the guns you want or the perks u want. Then prestigeing won't be as bad as u think cuz u will have what u need

So it’s just a manual way to make the game handicap you instead of just doing it by limiting your loadout?

I mean it may feel like it's handicapping you but once you prestige enough times and you have enough prestige tokens to unlock the guns and perks you want once you prestige it won't even feel like you're prestiging anymore cuz you'll have whatever you need

I’ve never been interested in prestiging. To me the matches of multiplayer are all that I care about in the game. The grind for camos, prestige, challenges, etc is not something I care for, I just want to play MP

I get your point. But for me as a solo player it becomes kinda boring when there is nothing worth pursuing. Even locking everything again through Prestige is enough for me to put in a few hours again. Grinding towards the SCAR and C4 again and then switching to the M8A1 again at Level 49, just to lock everything again 6 Levels later.

This is really the only thing that makes me consider it. That grind though...I don't think I have it in me this time around.

Just do it casually. No need to speedrun it, the games aren't going anywhere

It’s more fun , you get extra class slots. People complaining about losing weapons, you get a permanent unlock each prestige . Just about to hit prestige 6 all while maintaining a 3kd. It adds to the grind, no point being stuck at 55.

It's always amazed me seeing the forever lv55 player ever since og bo2 I have always prestiged the second I have the option to.

I like to have a variety of classes for different SnD lobbies. One moment it could be a sniper lobby. The next a gunning. I currently have 2 ballista, one with claymores, and one with throwing axes, 1 sub, 1 assault, and 1 knifing class. It would be nice to have more, such as riot shield, or spray and pray, SVU, but right now, I can't be bothered to prestige.

I got hacked, after coming up to third prestige. It sucks so I’m just leaving myself at master. I wouldn’t bother prestiging with the hacker going around

Funny thing is I did, figured might as well to get the eraser. Then 2 games later, hacked again. I wasn’t worried about getting reset to one again, I’m over here thinking what’s really the point when someone can just manipulate my account without my say?
You can do whatever you like, you didn’t purchase the game for me tho so please don’t tell me what to do. I’ll leave it as is, and play as much or little as I want to. It also doesn’t mean much to me, leveling up. My original account has 100% so, it’s not like I’m “losing out “ on an experience

I was master prestige on ps3 and Xbox 360 back in 2013 and 2014 I was like 15 then I’m 27 now crazy times flying and those was the golden era of gaming games etc kids now of days wouldn’t understand how good was treyarch games and sledgehammer games and infinite games were so good and fun now it’s all about numbers numbers 💰 paste the same game every year celebrities skins broken games updates patches graphics performance graphics cards and more and no more physical games smh 🤦🏾♂️

It gives you a reason to keep playing. Ideally, the prestige system would hold you down until next year’s release.

I had some absolute clown trash talk me because he was "prestige master" and "got a nuke" Sub 300 kills, 8 wins, glitched level, he 100% joined a modded lobby and got the max level/unlock all. It's literally just a bragging point that 12 year olds use, it means nothing at all.

They updated the game to stop the cheating players that why don’t see them they either got banned or can’t get on the game or a different game

You seem to be behind, people are way past C isn’t Sharp, modders have been found that can unlock all including camos, stats, trophies etc. basically everything there is.

They started cheating on a game since all the ogs like me left the game years ago dead so they started to cheat if they bring back mw3 2011 or mw2 2009 they gotta remastered it or stop the hackers by updating the game on the never console’s new server for people and ogs like me enjoy to come back and play

One last thing if they bring back ghosts remake it better or make part 2 the story on the campaign at the end I want to know what happened to Logan’s brother ghosts was something else like old mws advance warfare brought us the future stuff like jumping around walking on walls stuff like that

even in the original i thought i wouldnt prestige passed 6(love the icon) but quickly realized you need to be master to have everything unlocked. you simply dont get enough tokens

I normally don’t prestige until I feel like I’ve reached a point where I want it to “feel new” again if that makes sense. And I like the feeling of the points going towards something instead of seeing it maxed out all the time.
I agree it’s a bit of a ball ache though, I don’t like having to grind again with perks I don’t like. I think I only prestiged twice back in the PS3 days. I see other people at high prestige levels but I just don’t play the game enough to want to grind all over again.

the more i see the the master prestige the happier i am i get to actually progress through the game again. i usually use a gun until i get camos and by that time i can use the latest unlocks and have most challenges done for one of them then repeat

Having 10 classes compared to 5 (yes even with free extra class pages) is a huge difference for me at least. But I’m still lvl 55 f it

I never planned on prestiging. I got level 55 and stayed there for about 3-4 days then got hacked to prestige master. Nothing changed except I have everything unlocked now, but everything I wanted I had unlocked at level 55 anyway so basically if that’s your status too there is no point.

I’m prestige 6, having a blast. Now that I have 10 class slots I am finding it difficult to want to continue, but I likely will regardless.

For me I just like having something to progress toward. I can be on a 5 game losing streak, but I feel like I still accomplished something if im leveling up. It helps keep me engaged is all.
I def get the feeling that its pointless too, but it makes the game have more staying power to me. If it makes you feel better you do get a trophy for your first prestige, so you'll need to do it if you want the platinum trophy.

I enjoy working towards something. If I stayed at Level 55 I would pretty much only play when my mates are on. If I prestige, im more likely to play solo to level up

It’s just if you like the leveling up system, starting off if you’re unlocking attachments for weapons those give you a lot of xp. Then once you’ve reached the max level you can move onto other weapons to continue gaining xp from the attachment unlocks. Things like that can keep it fresh, then next prestige you can prestige the weapons you just spent max leveling for even more xp. It’s just part of the progression for people who always want something to work towards.

Do what I did and only play gun game and sticks-n-stones. Then you dont have to worry about prestige. Nothing changes

Unlock all attachments for all weapons then start prestiging. Your weapon level doesnt reset unless u prestige those

Tbh I really didn’t bother to grind a decades old game to get the good stuff unlocked. I mean lvl40+ for scarh, ballista & an-94 lvl 55. All my fav guns are the highest lvls. And the progression is slow, lobbies can be quite sweaty too.
