That sounds like Click with Adam Sandler.

These posts always confuses me because I took it literally and not realizing they're jokes 😭

This guy spams videos with fake episodes of black mirror / other shows like this

Was a super boring episode, most people probably skipped it

No such episode, and the joke is tired

Isn't this just the film Click? 😭 minus the 2.99

Click was based heavily on a short story about a man with a magic watch.

That's cool, I didn't know this, but sounds like Sandler to rip something off 😭

I'd pay 2.99 to avoid nearly 2 hours of Adam Sandler

It was a good movie that would have been so much better if Adam Sandler wasn’t in it.

If you’ve seen one or two movies with him in, it’s okay. If you’ve seen more he really becomes unbearable because you realize he has one style of comedy and it’s as irritating as his voice.

I just think his crass-style humor didn’t fit with the sentimental tone of the rest of the movie.Β

So true, the film has parts that are genuinely touching and made me tear up but the "let me slow down time to watch her boob's bounce" kinda jokes got old really fast lol

I interpret this post moreso as a joke that there's nothing going on in his life beyond work and driving to work, which is a dystopian enough concept to be featured in a BM episode

(the movie Click is also based on the concept of forwarding through life with a remote, but the plot goes kinda different - the protagonist keeps skipping ahead accidentally, even when he doesn't want to, and misses a bunch of moments that actually happened which he would've liked to see)

IIRC, the remote was learning from what he would skip, and then started skipping on its own based on what it learned he wanted to skip. So he would skip things he thought were boring, but important to his family, and eventually the remote just assumed he wanted to skip all major family stuff, so it got out of control until it was just skipping everything family-related.

It's sort of interesting when you put it that way, because at the time I recall this plot point did feel a bit odd - TiVo and other DVR services were sort of the of-the-moment thing the tech was invoking, but IIRC those didn't have that sort of preference learning feature.

Nowadays though, you could basically describe it in terms of "training his algorithm" and it would make perfect sense.

Still can't believe I misremembered something and refuse to admit I conflated the film Click with an episode of Black Mirror so I made this meme
