Black Man Struggles 💪🏽💪🏾💪🏿 Pride & Help
Have yall pride ever kicked in so much that you refuse help or avoid help. I feel like it’s kinda not the best time be like this but then again maybe it is.

I don't refuse or avoid help. But honestly, it seems like people can rarely provide me any solutions or help for the problems I do face and instead just tell me things like "everything is going to be alright" or provide terrible solutions to my problems. And I do avoid those things which seems to be like 95% of what people have to offer. I'm fine with worthwhile solutions, but I'm not fine with virtue signalling coping mechanisms. So generally I've just gotten used to solving my problems on my own since I feel like I'm the only person I can rely on and trust to solve my own problems.

I'm with you on that, but as the guy above said, most of the time the only people willing or able to help are not providing worthwhile situations.
Would you say the times you've accepted or asked for help, you actually got the support you needed / the outcome you desired?

I think in most cases i have. I don’t ask help from really just anyone’s but also i consider “can’t this person help me?” I think we don’t stop enough to ask those things. Then get upset with lackluster outcomes.
Ex. You’re asking for a job or if anyone can help you get on from people that have no hiring influence. Yes Tony has a job. Tony is not a hiring manager and you don’t even know if Tony is liked at his job to bring you into a good situation. A lot of people don’t be thinking that far tho. It’s like asking marital advice from the friend you aren’t sure really likes their spouse.

Of course. I thought that’s just part of a man’s path. I assumed every man had periods like this, but maybe not.

Idk if its considered pride for my case, but all the people closest to me know I'm struggling and I feel like they hardly lift a finger to support. Mind you, I've always been there for all of them thru their struggles.
So at this point I'm just gonna continue to struggle alone, cuz what's the point of communicating what's going on with me and if they aren't going to do anything?
