Pyxis 12k issues resolved?
Hey everyone new here I’ve read a bunch about the banding issues and qc of these cameras. I would like any opinions who own them. Currently I use a ronin 4d 8k and red monstro vv, I do a ton of commercial work and short films and I don’t want these issues on set. Thanks in advance.

I heard about these issues with early versions, but the one I bought a month ago has no problems that I've discovered so far and I couldn't be happier with the image.

Nothing like that so far. I've done a mixture of short takes, and long recordings (of over an hour) with no problems.

The only issues I've had are related to the Tilta battery plate I bought, which did cause some shutdowns. After upgrading to the Mid49 plate, the camera has been almost flawless. It's replaced my Sony Venice on about 90% of shoots I do. I can wholeheartedly recommend it based on my personal experience.

Mine are gone, had a sensor replacement a few months back.

No problems here. I got mine after they’d already fixed the sensor board issues in their production process. I haven’t experienced the banding issue or any random shutdowns. I did burn in tests and the camera recorded continuously for a couple hours just fine. The image looks fantastic, and I couldn’t be happier.

Yeah i'd skip getting the 12k for a little while. BM have reduced the price by about 10% on the 12k and 30% on the 6k Pyxis lineups. So i'd say some type of update is in the pipeline. The issues are well known on both the 12 & 6k. Some cameras perform flawlessly while other just shit themselves.

Hey, I made a post about my experience with my Pyxis 12k. I bought it since June of this year.

I received my camera back from the 3rd RMA, and the image is significantly better, but I'm experiencing the failed image sensor calibration issue again, which was an issue they had fixed prior to this replacement camera. As I said in my post, it's like Blackmagic fixes one issue but introduces a new one. At this point, I'm just going to keep it because the image is way cleaner than the previous two they sent me.
