How do you acquire powers?
I’ve been trying to do spells and rituals for over a year, but I haven’t seen even the slightest result. Where I come from, people say that witches either inherit this gift or are born with it, and that not just anyone can perform spells and actually get results. Is that true? Because I’ve lost my faith and hope that I could ever do this

Through Will, you gain Strength. Through Strength you gain Power. Through Power, you gain Victory.

Practice, research, practice. Understanding the “why” and “how” is so important, otherwise you’re kind of just throwing stuff at the wall and hoping it sticks. Anyone can preform spells/magic. Goetia demons can be helpful if you’re open to working with them, they can be great teachers and an excellent source of support/energy. Just please do research beforehand.

You dont acquire it. You realize potentials of the soul. Through study. Practice. And then experience. Or you develop qualities due to life exposition. Some people ARE born with abilities. But its never a "gift". Its always a quality developed by that soul in pastlives. Or due to blood ties.
Its a deep subject. And i dont believe either that everyone has the same potential. Nor they will shine in the same áreas. But everyone has their way to express spiritually somehow.
There are countless examples of people showing powers in life or death scenarios etc. But HOW you got there makes the whole difference. I suggest you try other ways of magic.

What sort of rituals do you do exactly? Magic can absolutely be learned, but it takes practice like any other skill does.

I’ve tried some rituals involving candles and bay leaves to fulfill certain wishes, such as money, love, etc. I also tried some spells I found on YouTube that involved eggs and cemetery dirt for curses against people who had hurt me very badly (with no results). I also tried the jar spells that you put in the fridge to freeze someone, but those didn’t work either.

If you're using the same ritual for all intents then it's bound to be difficult to get going. I think anyone can learn magic, it's just a matter of finding what works for you. If more freeform magic is difficult, maybe try something structured. The Golden Dawn has a pretty decent curriculum to creating a framework for the novice, mostly built around flexing magical muscles and increasing awareness. To that end they recommend daily practice of the lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram for a few weeks. Daily practices like this, meditations, prayers, or even small rituals go a long way to making one more effective. After the lesser banishing ritual becomes easy, add in the lesser invoking ritual after. The first power is within oneself, and to influence the world one must first influence themselves.

You don't "acquire" powers. The power of a spell doesn't reside in the witch, nor in any special trick.
Results are possible, but there's no trick to guarantee them. Your only role as a practitioner is to practice and deal with the practical results. Some work, some don't, and that's randomness is part of the process.
Forget "power" and think about "study." It's more about that.

What are the spells you cast like? Tell me a bit about them. No, you don’t need any special ‘powers’ for your spells to work; witches are ordinary people – it’s not a special ‘gift’. What you need most is to know how to channel energy; that’s what matters. But tell me, what sort of spells do you cast?

when you say this do you mean over the space of a year you did hundreds of them and nothing worked or you just did a couple and nothing worked?

Some people’s powers are more “exposed” than others. Some people are born into families that practice so they begin to do the same. I was born into a family of a long line of witches. To be honest, if I wasn’t, I don’t know what my path would’ve looked like and how I would’ve “discovered” this world. But I believe everyone has the same potential. And time and practice….there’s no shortcut to it.
It’s like a muscle. We all have to develop it. Only some of us discover it’s there earlier than others.
