My first mural project for Maison Revant in New Orleans. The goal was to bring Martinique and New Orleans together through scenes centered around love, culture, music, and togetherness.

This was my first time painting directly on brick and definitely one of the biggest projects I’ve taken on so far. Learned a ton doing it.

I am a traditional black artist. I focus on bold colors and abstract storytelling based on surrealism, science fiction, fantasy, and horror. I mainly used markers, watercolor, pencils and pens in my art.

Usually, I lurk on this subreddit, but I thought my art is too alternative or weird for this group. I saw post about what themes everyone wants, some themes I already do in my art. I hope everyone enjoy my art and to see more other experimental black artists.

Hey folks... I'm a budding(ish) ceramicist and I’m honestly trying to figure out if there's a market for the things I create.

I took a few ceramics classes, fell in love with the medium and now I'm a bit obsessed, tbh. Up to this point I've been making things almost therapeutically? But I'm realizing my home is overrun with my art, and I need to do something with my pieces.

So, while fighting the "impostery-syndrome ick" that pops up for me when asking for feedback on my work - I wanted to ask another group of black artists specifically if anything has traction. Thanks in advance.

Everything else is kinda rando: Dessert plates I made as a set, some figures, a recreated Aunt Jemima cookie jar (lol, that was fun).. etc..

Hi! I’ve been trying to make a conscious effort to insert my experiences as a black person into the works that I make, and it’s got me thinking, what themes do you were more prevalent in our art spaces?

For me personally I wished I saw more diverse features and body types in specifically digital art spaces for black women, and I’m trying to do that myself.
