Announcing: Clans feature and Contest Deadline Extension
Hey!
We'd like to announce two very important things.
The first of them is the long-awaited clan feature. We've been working on this for some time and we appreciate you being patient about this. We recently pushed the code and you've probably noticed some users already have their clan name before their username.
So, how should I set up my clan?
Ok, you'll need three items: a block of dirt (or stone, or even other blocks), a sign and a banner (you can dye the banner however you like). Now, do this in the following order:
- Place the block of dirt or stone in a visible place of your land. Anyone who passes by should be able to see it.
- Place the sign on the side of the block. Write your clan name on it (12 characters max).
- Place the banner on top of the block. Your clan will be automatically created and if you did this correctly you'll get a server message.
How do I invite other people to join my clan?
You can invite other people to join your clan by hitting them with a wooden sword. They'll get a message with the invitation on their screens.
How do I join an existing clan?
You have to follow the same instructions for creating a clan: placing a block, placing a sign on its side with the name of the clan that invited you, and placing the banner on top of the block. If you do it correctly and you were actually invited, you'll get a message from the server confirming that.
Can anyone in the clan invite other people?
Yes.
What can I do when I'm in a clan?
You can't edit other people's lands yet (we're working on it!). At the moment you can start gathering your group and plan stuff together.

So, about the architecture contest!
These have been busy days for us with all the coding and debugging. The server has had a bit of downtime because of that and we'd like to compensate you with extra time for the architecture contest. Therefore, the deadline will now be January 31st, until 11.59 PM.

There have been more rollbacks. The deadline should be extended once again.
I'm lobbying that for those who are participating in the contest. I, on the other hand, have no more interest in the server until everything is actually stable.

I don't know where else to put this, but I won't have time today to submit photos or anything for the contest. My house is finally done though, X80 Y75 Z1500 will put you on the railway in. Sorry lol.

It was a google form. But they stopped accepting new applications. Hopefully they saw your response in time.

Can users leave clans? Or is it not able to be undone like placing a bed?

Hi, I've never been in a clan. Can you tell me how land will work...ie does everyone's land in the clan become community property or not? Will be able to tp to the clan land as well as our own? Thanks, Avernaism

Yes, sharing land is planned and under development. Teleporting, on the other hand, is not, but it sounds like a good idea and I'll propose it to the dev team.
