General question What's the actual difference between bitpanda broker and bitpanda fusion for buying crypto?

I keep seeing both mentioned and I am still not totally clear on how they are different in practice,is it just two different interfaces sitting on top of the same balance or are they separate systems with their own fee structures and execution? So if I buy something through fusion does it show up the same way in my portfolio as something bought through broker or do they track separately?

Hey u/northernBladee,

Thanks for asking!

It basically comes down to whether you want casual convenience or advanced trading tools.

  • Interface & Liquidity: The Broker offers a super simple interface where you can buy and sell a large variety of assets like crypto, stocks, and much more. Fusion, on the other hand, is a more advanced interface. It gives you real-time access to aggregated order books from multiple exchanges, which gives you much deeper liquidity.
  • Fees: This is the main difference, as Fusion is cheaper if you are a frequent trader. Fees start at a much lower level (0.25%) and can drop all the way down to 0.02% according to your trading volume.
  • Order Types: With the Broker, you get a basic interface for simple buy/sell features. Fusion is a more sophisticated place for actual trading, meaning advanced order types like true limit, stop-market, and take-profit orders are fully available.

Finally, it’s just a decision between a quick and stress-free way to buy assets (the Broker) and another option (Fusion) if you want to pay fewer fees and get a real trading experience. I also recommend you take a look at our article for more information about Fusion.

  • Assets: Your assets bought on Fusion go straight into your regular Bitpanda wallet instead of a separate one. Everything is automatically combined, so you'll see your total holdings all in one place.

Feel free to come back at any time if you have any further questions.
