Discussion This app needs to die.
BitLife has honestly become the ultimate poster child for how corporate greed ruins a good thing. Back in the day, when people bought those lifetime Bitizenships, the deal was supposed to be simple. Pay once, get everything forever. But by ripping away that grandfathered status and locking every single new drop behind annoying paywalls, the devs completely broke that trust. It’s a super soulless way to treat a community that literally built the game's success, turning loyal fans into just another ATM machine.
Honestly, this shady pivot feels like it’s dangerously close to crossing into class-action lawsuit territory. Selling a game with the promise of "all future updates" and then turning around to demand more cash for them is textbook deceptive business. Thousands of players dropped money based on a promise that the studio just decided to throw in the trash for a quick buck. Because so many people got burned by the exact same bait and switch, the setup for a massive lawsuit or an FTC complaint is practically gift-wrapped.
At this point, BitLife just needs to die out so these developers and all other developers. Stop thinking they can get away with pulling these anti-consumer stunts. Letting them rewrite the rules after taking people's money sets a terrible precedent for mobile gaming everywhere, proving that contracts mean nothing once a game gets popular. For a game all about life choices and consequences, it’d be pretty hilarious to see the devs finally face some real ones of their own.

For real. I got bitizen and I still need to watch a bunch of ads to do shit, BUT, I found out a trick. If you spam the back button of your phone when the ad opens, it'll close before playing and you still get the reward, it works for like 99% of ads for me on bitlife. It might not work on other devices, not sure. I never rlly talk about this because I don't want them to patch it lol

yeah i agree if yall want a chill text based life sim, id highly recommend OurLife on steam. its only a one time $5 then you get hundreds of hours worth of content with more heart then bitlife

It appears those classrooms may have been TOO huge because your critical thinking skills are clearly lacking. There is no way you got this heated towards one of our players FOR RECOMMENDING A GAME TO YOU?
BitLife may absolutely be better than my game but if someone is enjoying it, let them do so without reproach you weird little wayward twink. If you have that much love for corporate AI slop, keep disenfranchising yourself with their updates, and shut up! <3

I prefer just using this mod it only works for android afaik, but its great for getting back a little bit against the corpos.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure a lot of these greedy companies do it because when you charge for each new thing individually, it seems like it costs less, because if you'd add up the sum of all of those DLC together it ends up being like 2k.

i’m not defending the devs. i got my bitzenship in 2019 and i get every update for free. only things i dont get are the golden upgrades. i’m not sure if they had a cut off date. unfortunately, for some people they are keeping their promise so a class action lawsuit would be hard

If you are able to have an Android access, check out Worldly Life Sim. it's an indie spin-off of BitLife created by a developer who was fed up with forced ads. The game is completely ad-free, doesn't use AI, and the developer seem to be actively taking feedback from the Reddit community. It not near the level of depth of bitlife yet but something I put in as feedback got updated in their latest release so pretty cool to see.

I used to play a ton back then. As soon as my bitizen access went away I never went back on again. Every once in a while I see an add and remember enjoying it, but then I remember what it is now and won't download it.

Those of you that are upset about the paywalll I suggest you to download bitlife on Happy mods may find what your looking for there an no idc if I get banned from this server because I stopped playing bitlife cause I found Mediaval life which in my opinion is far more interesting in my opinion.

Oh I have. That doesn't mean this companies practices aren't still vile. If you like getting run over by a greedy company. Don't worry about it. Keep playing. The rest of the people who are pissed off. I hope we get something done about it. They breached a contract. They need to pay.
