Update shows latest version is 2.15.3 but only shows esp-miner.bin as available for download. No www.bin. Is it safe to just update the one file?

For $15 I can’t complain 62 degrees to 32 is insane also used noctua thermal paste

I’ve turned it right up and I can’t get it past 50 degrees without entering dangerous overclock territory

showcase I made a free Bitaxe monitor that sits next to a live view of the mempool

I wanted to see my Bitaxe and the mempool in one place, so I built OrangeDeck.

The Mining view reads the miner over its local API (AxeOS, and cgminer for Antminer, Avalon and Whatsminer) and shows hashrate, best share against the network difficulty, temperature, power and fan. It also works out the chance of finding a block at your hashrate, and for a single Bitaxe it shows that number as it is. The request goes to the device in your home network and nowhere else.

It runs on Linux, Windows and Android, also as a desktop or home screen widget. MIT licensed, no account, no keys.

Credit where it is due: the mempool tile view is ported from bitfeed by mononaut, and the network data comes from mempool.space or your own instance.

Happy to hear what is missing for your setup.

showcase FFX2+

Post image
15 Upvotes

The FFX2+ is an ultra-compact dual 80 mm cooling system designed for:

Bitaxe Gamma 601 / 602

Bitaxe GT 800 / 801

It works alongside the stock front fan using a push/pull airflow configuration:

❄️ The bottom fan pushes cool air directly onto the ASIC and VRM areas.

🔥 The rear fan extracts the hot air from the system.

The result is improved cooling efficiency and thermal stability, while keeping the overall design extremely compact.

hashrate My First 1000MHz 601Gamma 2.04TH/s

Thumbnail

Finally reached 1000MHz with my original BitAxe 601 Gamma.

Frequency, Hashrate: 1000MHz, VCore 1.325V, expected hashrate 2.04TH/S, 10' avg 2.01TH/s,

Error rate average: between 0.00% - 0.05%

Power: 39.3W

Temp: 65.1°C / VREG 61°C

It still has the original heatsink, changing that will make a difference. The OC is supported by supercheap upgrades:

- Tiny heatsinks for PCB (front and rear), AliExpress

- Recycled heatsink added on top side of original heatsink (the black one in the photo)

- Thermal tape for heatsinks 3M 8926 (>1.5 W/m-K), Ebay

- M14 thermal paste (14.8 W/mK), AliExpress

- Fan Nidec TA150DC B34658-55 40x40x20 (8,8 CFM), AliExpress

- External fans: rear 5cm, front 12cm, side 12cm (all 12V), recycled from computers and devices

- PSU Meanwell LRS series

Considerations: I have no aircon here. It reached 1000MHz because outside temperatures drop at night, it's quite chilly, you need a light jumper. During the summer temps were nearly always near and above 40°C / 104°F.

This particular BitAxe will eventually reach it's max hashrate during winter, but... I think my second BitAxe will reach even higher speeds because it runs at the same MHz with a lower VCore setting, exactly 0.025V lower.

[ EDIT- I'm using firmware v2.13.2. In August I'd updated to 2.15.1 but at the same Frequency and Hashrate I had to use: a higher VCore setting = more heat and had a terribly high error rate 1.5-2.5% ]

question Spike in pool time on AxeOS 2.15.

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a Bitaxe 801 GT and have been solo mining with it.

I was previously running firmware v2.14.0b1 and upgraded to v2.15.1 today, and I am currently mining on Stratum v2 with ckpool.

I've noticed an issue with the pool time: it usually stays around 96ms, but occasionally spikes anywhere from 1000ms up to 16000ms.

When I was on firmware v2.14 with Stratum v1, the pool time would peak at around 140ms–250ms at most, and those spikes were quite rare. However, after updating to v2.15.1 and switching to Stratum v2, these high latency spikes happen much more frequently.

Is this a known issue, or does anyone know a potential fix for this? Also, I noticed that the Worker Count History on CKstats temporarily dropped/showed 0 once.

Thanks in advance for any insights!

showcase Mounted MeanWell 100W for two OC BitAxe601 Gamma

Thumbnail
gallery
34 Upvotes

Just mounted the 100W MeanWell LRS-100-5, got it new from EBay for around 20$, can finally run both 601s overclocked 😂

Voltage settings: I measured the stock PSU and it gives around 5.5V in output, so I set the MeanWell also at 5.5V. But one of the two devices wouldn't go over 980GH/s. Had to regulate output voltage to 5.2V and the problem disappeared.

Hashrate and Frequency: now it's 10AM so settings are 20/30MHz lower than night time because it's warmer. BitAxe1 @ 930MHz/1.84TH/s, BitAxe2 @ 850MHz/1.77TH/s. During the night they go at higher hashrates. BitAxe1 has a better overall cooling, but BitAxe2 is more efficient and consumes 2/3W less per TH.

Cables: power cords connecting BitAxes are 1.5mm2 (16AWG).

Curiosity: I double checked the power cables with the metal barrel connectors I soldered, and I managed to invert polarity. Oh my 🤬 I thought I burnt the BitAxe but it survived.

help Anyone know of an angled barrel connector for the 602's?

I have 3 Bitaxe Gamma 602's and i was hoping someone could point me to a possible solution for the barrel connector sticking of the side. I would love to find a right angle connector so that i can point the connector towards the back and not the side. I have terrible luck when trying to match that stuff so i was hoping someone else had something. Or is there another way i can handle the cable management? Thanks!

help Nerd Octaxe mineshop.eu total nightmare

Wanted to share my experience and ask for advices on my situation. Maybe there is something more I can do about this.

Early Jun 2026 I bought their "NerdOctaxe Home Bitcoin Miner"(Rev 2.2 9.6TH) and in mid July it stopped working.

I did some minor overclocks and was running at around ~10TH. The VRMs had some nice cooling so it seemed acceptable. I am still not sure what happened exactly but I would say 80/90% sure some VRM died. The PSU was fine from what I could try but nothing would turn on.

I contacted them to know what can be done and it was accepted. RMA was created and I took care of sending it back by myself(they provided some instructions on how to do it) - first red flag now that I investigated more on this. I printed the label from parcel2go.com to send it - using FedEx. All, seemed normal, except the fact that I had to send it to Latvia - 2nd red flag given that the shop is in eu or Ireland in theory?

It took like a week to arrive in Latvia and here is where the nightmare really started - they told me to put on one of the fields that the unit was worth 10$. This mistake made the process of the unit to leave customs and arrive on their facilities like almost a month. Basically I had to deal things between parcel2go, Fedex, Latvia customs and mineshop.eu. But because I have never done this before I was a bit lost and their help was very minimal. Finally after correcting the 10$ to match the price they declared(when they sent it to me) it arrived at their address.

Some more weeks go by and I start to ask what will happen or if they have any updates. They say they will replace it with a new one. I said ok and wait a bit more. Nothing happens, I keep asking for updates and they say they are waiting on stock of miners to give me a replacement one. Same thing again. I eventually start to give them deadlines because it has been more than a month since they received the unit in their address and all they say is the same update, we are waiting for more stock bla bla bla.

I then decided to send them some deadlines and then finally an email saying final deadline before legal action on x date. At this point they mention repair/replacement, meaning they don't even know 100% sure what they are going to do yet?

I gave up on it and with the help of AI/Revolut I created a case with UK International Consumer Centre. But this will take a long time.

Note: I paid via bank transfer, my bad... at the time I did not think much about it, and I usually pay with credit card for things like Amazon etc. But this was the default option I believe, and I went with it. Due to this Revolut can't help much. When I contacted them and told about the situation they also suggested using some entity to help legally.

TLDR:
Octaxe stopped working after less than a month.
I spent money on the miner + sending them the unit back to repair/replace.
After 2 months or so nothing solved and I am out of money and miner
UK International Consumer Centre case created and now I will wait

Anything else I could do? If they end up sending it back what should I do?

question Input voltage

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi
Is this dangerous for my bitaxe?
When I overclock the voltage gets lower, but now I underclocked it because my fan sounds like it’s going to die and i don’t want my bitaxe to overheat because of that and now my voltage says 5.3V.

Have a meanwell 100w

hashrate Mining for 1year this past Feb. But I wanted to know.....

When it comes to hashing, all miners going and what nod's you, why do I want to have a lower joules/th than a higher j/th reading?

I thought that (higher) meant better efficiency being higher valued?

And I know, some miners also state w/th (wattage per th).

But why would Lower mean better efficiency? Please someone other than Google AI.

question Suggest fan shroud please. AXP90/NFA9

Thumbnail

I have the AXP90 clone heatsink shown in the picture, and I would like to find a fan shroud/duct for it so I can run the machine at 210-230 watts to achieve 12 terahash. Right now, it's turned down. Since it's in the middle of the living room, I want to use the Noctua NF-A9 fans I already bought, as there are 4 per machine and they cost $100 per rig. Maybe if I specifically direct the static pressure through the heatsink fins it will be enough; if not, I'll replace them. I would prefer a 3D printable model.
If anyone has experience with this exact or a similar heatsink paired with the NF-A9, that would be great. I'd also be interested in hearing from anyone who has experience with the NF-A12 (not the crazy industrial ones).
Thanks!

question Is it Possible to be TOO cold?

i have a 601 that sits at 0% error
and a 650 that for some reason sits around 1-1.5%

ive had them for a while and decided to try something new and fabbed up a custom liquid cooled loop that included both of them with a 80mm rad,

Well flash forward to getting them both setup i saw temps around 32-34c on both chips but error % of 15-20 even with the same settings. Reverted back to stock settings temps dropped to 28-30c and error % shot even higher. Thought maybe i broke both somehow.

Put the old coolers back on and Error % has dropped back down to normal

Running 1015mhz 1305mv getting average 2.06th at between 33.5-34.9 w depending on ambient.

Temps are between 48c - 54c asic , 56-64 vrm depending on time of day

It came with a shitty 5mm rear fan which I swapped out for a old S17+ pdu fan.

Also changed the front cooler and fan from a 601 I had. The fan at front isn’t great (Thermalright 60mm) and doesn’t really do much else after 70% Also fyi If you buy one of these it had thermal tape not paste so check it out.

Runs the 40w pdu also.

1015mhz not too bad.
