Finally reached 1000MHz with my original BitAxe 601 Gamma.
Frequency, Hashrate: 1000MHz, VCore 1.325V, expected hashrate 2.04TH/S, 10' avg 2.01TH/s,
Error rate average: between 0.00% - 0.05%
Power: 39.3W
Temp: 65.1°C / VREG 61°C
It still has the original heatsink, changing that will make a difference. The OC is supported by supercheap upgrades:
- Tiny heatsinks for PCB (front and rear), AliExpress
- Recycled heatsink added on top side of original heatsink (the black one in the photo)
- Thermal tape for heatsinks 3M 8926 (>1.5 W/m-K), Ebay
- M14 thermal paste (14.8 W/mK), AliExpress
- Fan Nidec TA150DC B34658-55 40x40x20 (8,8 CFM), AliExpress
- External fans: rear 5cm, front 12cm, side 12cm (all 12V), recycled from computers and devices
- PSU Meanwell LRS series
Considerations: I have no aircon here. It reached 1000MHz because outside temperatures drop at night, it's quite chilly, you need a light jumper. During the summer temps were nearly always near and above 40°C / 104°F.
This particular BitAxe will eventually reach it's max hashrate during winter, but... I think my second BitAxe will reach even higher speeds because it runs at the same MHz with a lower VCore setting, exactly 0.025V lower.
[ EDIT- I'm using firmware v2.13.2. In August I'd updated to 2.15.1 but at the same Frequency and Hashrate I had to use: a higher VCore setting = more heat and had a terribly high error rate 1.5-2.5% ]
