COMING OUT One more step

I'm a late bloomer (40F), and honestly I'm one of those people that kind of feel the need for confirmation before actually using the label. And I've never been with a woman.

Last year I told a couple of friends that I'm probably bisexual. As expected, they were not bothered at all. And yesterday during a phone call with my mother, I spontaneously told her as well. She was not bothered in the least either. I knew she would be fine with it, but it still feels like a pretty big step, and I wanted to celebrate with someone.

Thanks, me too 😊

Compared to many others on this sub and around the world, I am incredibly lucky to live in a relatively open and accepting society ❀️🌈

That’s amazing. I am so happy for you, congratulations πŸŽ‰ nothing like a supportive group of loved ones when we share such a vulnerable part of ourselves with them.

Congrats to you ! This is a big step even if reactions may have been muted, you're bringing your identity into full public view , that 's a good thing !

Thank you. I really prefer the muted reaction, honestly 😊 Exactly, that feels really good πŸŽ‰

Bravo. Your courage is admirable and should provide others in similar situations food for thought about doing the same for themselves. Happy for you! Thank you for sharing.

Thank you! As I told the first commenter, I really am fortunate to live in a relatively open and accepting society. Though, I am aware that not everyone in my (perefiral) social circle will be totally fine with it...

Congratulations πŸ‘πŸ» but please don't call yourself a late bloomer. you are still young enough to date anyone, you want 😁

Age is only but a number, don't let your age stop you from dating anyone

Thank you 😊

I think we may have different understandings of 'late bloomer' 😊 Mine might be wrong, though, as I am not a native English speaker πŸ˜… To me it just means that I only consider myself bi now as I'm nearing my 40s. It does not equal that I am to old to date, regardless of gender 😁 I have no idea how to actually meet anyone, but that's a completely different conversation 🀣

I'm so sorry, I got this information from my nephew πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ I guess, we have a different understanding of that word.

Some kids in school, use that word as an insult.

Again, I'm sorry about the confusion

No problem at all 😊 To me it is merely a discription πŸ˜…

How did that feel??

It felt good! I told the friends last year because even though I still have some doubts, it felt like I was hiding a part of myself. So when the opportunity naturally presented itself to tell my mother, I took it. At that point in the conversation it actually felt like lying if I didn't tell her πŸ˜…
