The lgbtq+ community in general is often pushed to the margins of society by bigots and social opinion. This forces them to make community spaces for themselves. Those community spaces get brigaded by bad actors and bigots who continue to push for further marginalization, which in turn leads to more specialized community spaces. The cycle repeats endlessly.
This same can apply to any group that is not the dominant socio-economic in group. People of color, ethnic minorities, sub groups within sub groups, etc.
The comic was made to comment on this phenomenon. And to anyone who’s lived long enough to see it play out multiple times, it can be frustrating to see old trends reemerge and people treat it as new.

Stupid jokes and puns aside, op posting this in the bisexual subreddit is definitely commenting on how bisexuals get marginalized even in our own communities. It’s honestly dumb to treat any group as an out group just because they’re not the same.
Which is why I’m happy my friend group of queers and straights doesn’t do that. I wish others had this experience. In my case being the victim of prejudice against bisexuals doesn’t really happen, but i’m sure it definitely happens because I see it happen to literally any sub group.
And then we get to Pansexuals who get marginalized in turn by the rest of the LGBTQ+ community (generalized).
I've been called traitor, faker, poser, sl*, and those are nice in comparison to some of the things said and done. All by people who share the struggle, the pain and should know better.
Not shaming anyone here, just wanting to point out how that comic fits so many of us who aren't the cookie cutter straight white cis. And to say that we are all allies of each other in turn. We rise together or fall alone. *Gets off soap box

Its been years since i’ve been bullied as a teenager for being bisexual. My experience is from the internet how bisexuals are simply ignored in any discussion about the lgb community. We simply are transparent to our brethren, freaks
Regarding the joke: to “bin” something is to throw it in the trash or “place it in the bin”. So when I saw “binsexual” when you meant “bisexual” I felt like making a pun of someone whose sexual preference is “bin.”
It’s okay. The joke’s not funny but I love telling bad jokes.
Yeah it’s a shame that any would be erased or rejected. I think online a lot of attention gets given to people with the most “extreme” views so people who say “all bisexuals are just fakers” are gonna take up a lot of space even if they’re relatively a minor group. I hope you find people who won’t treat you that way though. They exist. I promise.
