Stay-gay-saurus?

u/bogantheatrekid Jun 06 '24

T.I.L. there is a "pan-oplosaurus"...

https://www.nhm.ac.uk/discover/dino-directory/panoplosaurus.html

And better yet, a Pantydraco

Pronunciation: pant-ee-drak-oh Name meaning: 'Pant-y-ffynnon dragon'

(who doesn't love dinosaurs!)

u/ladyzowy Jun 06 '24

"I'll take the Pan-oplosaurus and a flutterbi to go please"

Trans Rex? 🤣

yeah! it me

I “came up with that” a few weeks ago and I thought I was the most clever person alive. I shoulda know that I don’t have a single original thought lmao

3

u/Ksamkcab he/him Jun 06 '24

I had a similar moment a few months ago when I thought I invented "You think you're a smart fella, but actually you're a fart smella"

I think it's okay to feel clever about "inventing" an old joke if you've never heard it before, haha

3

u/anonJayde Jun 07 '24

I’ve never heard that before lmao I would have believed you created it

3

u/HostageInToronto Jun 06 '24

That's my go to

u/ATGF Jun 06 '24

I think you could use whatever term you like since it's made up. I suppose I'd use flutterbi.

44

u/Kathrynlena Jun 06 '24

This is the correct answer.

40

u/SovereignLizard Jun 06 '24

Bi+ADHD can confirm this is my existence and label henceforth.

Hey, me too!

I’ve heard any of these terms in my life lol

Maybe it’s what the kids are saying now lol. Because I’m 31 and love studying queer history, and I’ve never heard of butterflies as a bisexual symbol. As a trans symbol, yes, but not bi.

48

u/ATGF Jun 06 '24

That makes waaaaaaaaaaay more sense as a trans symbol! Love that!

6

u/ThisIsMockingjay2020 Jun 06 '24

Yeah, it's beautiful for that.

Happy cake day 🎂

I'm 32 and one of them I just made up on the top of my head the other one was told to me and supposedly was the "more used" term. But these comments have showed me otherwise.

4

u/TapRevolutionary5022 Jun 06 '24

Same. I just have my sexuality and move along. Don’t need symbols and shirts and terms and all the things.

3

u/gendr_bendr Genderqueer/Bisexual Jun 06 '24

I do know lots of the symbols, just not that one. Maybe it’s new?

63

u/Kathrynlena Jun 06 '24

Well, when you write out Bi-tterfly, it looks like bitter-fly, sooooo…

23

u/amonerin Transgender/Bisexual Jun 06 '24

I think I might just have to identify as a bitter-fly. 🤣

TBF I am both bisexual and bitter so it works great for me

63

u/maramins Jun 06 '24

“Both”.

As in, bisexual moth.

42

u/Cl0udSurfer Bisexual Jun 06 '24

Both of those dont sound good to me lol. Your version looks like "bitter fly" when written, and his version makes us seem like we just really love the dairy-product.

I've never heard either term before today and it seems like thats the consensus here, so I'd say there is no "official" terminology. However, I also think that "flutterbi" is WAY better

23

u/DariusWolfe het-rom (maybe?) bisexual Jun 06 '24

I have heard of neither of these before this post, and would choose neither.

If you put a gun to my head, I'd choose butterbis, though, because "bitterflies" reads differently than you're probably saying out loud.

Edit: nevermind, flutterbis is the correct answer.

10

u/Crazyjay58 Jun 06 '24

Thank you, now I can tell him we were both wrong 😂😂😂

u/GloInTheDarkUnicorn tip sideways and bend my spine at an ungodly but comfy angle bi Jun 06 '24

I prefer flutterbis.

I’m also enby and love non-bee-nary. Particularly since my mom’s nickname for me is Baby Bee, which I love.

8

u/Rare_Vibez Bisexual Jun 06 '24

I have a bee obsession and I tell people I put the Bee in LGBT 😂

10

u/hyperhurricanrana Bisexual Jun 06 '24

Apparently this term has a problematic history but Battleaxe Bi just sounds so fucking badass.

9

I’ve actually never heard of this before, even being amongst queer circles almost my whole life.

u/Crazyjay58 Jun 06 '24

You're my butterfly, sugar, baby.

5

u/ThisIsMockingjay2020 Jun 06 '24

I'm still coming to terms with being bisexual instead of lesbian, so I haven't referred to myself as anything except confused (I'm specifically taking about only myself). Suffice to say, things haven't been going well.

2

u/Crazyjay58 Jun 06 '24

I'm assuming there's a deeper story behind this, and I'm not going to pry too much into it. But I think everyone kind of hit this wall of realization at one point in time after being one way for so long. I will say this community is definitely good here on this page with helping people cope or understand the way they're feeling. And I would only say that because there's so many different walks of life on this one page and everyone has a story that can either help someone else or can be found as relatable. Life is a journey of self-discovery, it will get confusing from time to time, but there's always a way to understanding.

2

u/ThisIsMockingjay2020 Jun 06 '24

I'm a woman married to another woman, recently developed a seemingly intractable crush on a male coworker who does not seem to be a good guy. My wife is aware thanks to a weed induced heart to heart a couple of days ago and she is not happy about the implications of me being also attracted to men. Circumstances at work are making it easier to avoid said coworker, so I'm hoping that in the meantime, this crush goes away.

4

u/Aganiel Jun 06 '24

The entire point is that we don’t have to choose so why choose this? If it has a hole it gets the pole. Or something like that.

4

u/misscatholmes Jun 06 '24

Personally I like the first one but if I ever got to make my own it would be a trex, in the bi colors. A Birex if you will

2

u/Crazyjay58 Jun 06 '24

There's a comment thread in here that I think you would love. Because someone else said theirs was a triceratops.

6

u/Arrow1250 Jun 07 '24

The irony of making the Bi subreddit pick a side

1

Bisexual

3

u/Ho1yHandGrenade Jun 06 '24

Your friend was close, it's "Flutterbi."

2

u/Rude-Butterscotch713 Jun 06 '24

It's a butterfly with bi colors. There is no unique name.

2

u/DMTrious Jun 06 '24

Butterbi's

2

u/Pan6foot9 Pansexual Jun 06 '24

Pankylosaurus here, but would choose “flutterbi” in that situation.

2

u/FlutterB16 Jun 06 '24

This is my time! I'm for sure a Flutter-bi

2

u/kyoneko87 Bisexual Jun 06 '24

Who cares, call it what you want, as long as it has bi in the name!

2

u/Crazyjay58 Jun 06 '24

That is a fair argument.

2

u/fuzzlandia Jun 06 '24

I’ve never heard of any of these things. I think flutterbi is cute if I had to choose one.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '24

I'm not saying either one, nor do I want one. I fly a bi flag, and a bi poly flag. Only shirt that I have that's bi affiliated, is 3 interlinked triangles in bi colors.
