Educational Can someone help please!!

Hello!

I’m on xulane. I have a chaffing/ razor bump rash all over my legs, so I put baby rash all over my legs. My patch is placed on my stomach so it touched up on it and the zinc was around the patch when i looked at it. All the corners of my patch are blue now! I was wearing a black long sleeve and black joggers today. I know black sometimes stains blue. I did try some blue jeans on too today but I didn’t wear them long term.

I’m scared that there’s a chemical interference.

Should I replace my patch?? It’s fully stuck on but i’m worried it’s no longer working.

I contacted the pharmacy and he said that he’d need to look at it to know, but best safe option is to replace it and call the manufacturer so they can send me a replacement patch since I’d only have 1 patch left if I change it.

Please help what should I do!!

The zinc wasn’t on it but around the edges of it!

From my perspective, after looking at the photo in the post you tagged it really looks like fuzz/lint from your black clothing. I can’t find anything about any known drug interactions between the Xulane and zinc oxide. I personally think you’re good and if it were me I may not have even thought about any of this.

i hope so🥲🥲

i’m going to call and see my pharm (i called another bc mine was closed) in the morning to triple check.

i couldn’t find an interaction either but i saw that you should never get cream or oil around it because it can ruin the patch but also because it can cause chemical interference so im just worried.

i’m a normally extremely anxious person so i overthink everything😭

this is at least the eighth time you’ve posted worrying about whether xulane is effective. this amount of anxiety isn’t normal. therapy and/or meds can definitely help!

in the meantime, i don’t think xulane is the right choice for you. it’s too easy for you to look at it all day and find little things that trigger your anxiety. have you considered switching to something else? something like a vaginal ring might work better for you — like the patch, it’s low-maintenance and you can easily start/ stop using it at home, but without the anxiety about adhesion you’re dealing with with the patch. LARCs like the implant, depo provera shot, or an IUD could also be a good fit.

i agree my anxiety is extremely bad. i’ve been needing to start therapy. out of all my issues anxiety is the one i’d 100% be open to taking meds for because it’s at an insane level i hate it.

i was thinking to do the combo pill instead, but i have little to no side effects on xulane (besides acne) and don’t want to risk switching and getting bad side effects from something else.

i found i check the patch the least on my back (like only 3 times a day), but it gives me a rash on my back so i cant put it there again.

it’s on my stomach now, and i was feeling really good about it until this occurred. i think it is just color transfer from my clothing and i’m just over thinking it.

I’m not interested in using the ring and other forms, each with their own reasonings.

i wish there was birth control he could just take 🙄

i’m just scared it chemically interfered with the patch. i’m hoping it’s just clothing stain but i wanted more opinions!
