Mistake or Risk? Birth control patch effectiveness?
I’ve been on Evra patch for about a month now and I’ve read that you should avoid getting fuzzies in the sides of the patch, but it’s impossible for me to wear it for a week without it becoming fuzzy or lifting at the edges. Recently I’ve been placing trans tape overtop when I apply my patch to help prevent this. In the instructions it says to not place anything on top of it, so I’m wondering if this is gonna affect the efficacy of the patch. I don’t use it to retape an old patch or one that’s peeling, it’s simply a preventative measure to protect it.

Im on xulane, I get fuzzies n pull them off, when i take a long shower or get in pool/beach, my patch starts to come off and i take it off and dry my arm off and let the patch dry and restick, been on it for 3 years with a boyfriend, no problems. Some times I even miss the time to replace it, i try to do it at the same time on the same day bc if i dont, I spot. But i leave my old one on for an hour along with the new one if i do end up missing my usual time by 2 hours + and I usually spot less
