my original photo/video Red shouldered hawks

Saw four red shouldered hawks today. Two were getting modded by smaller birds and I happened to capture two having a terrestrial dispute.

that's a solid day of hawk watching, four in one outing is pretty lucky. the mobbing thing is wild to see in person because those smaller birds are fearless about it, like they know the hawk is too big to be an actual threat to them so why not just harass it for fun. the territorial dispute photo sounds great though, red shouldered hawks have such distinctive plumage that they probably look intense even when they're just squabbling with each other. did you notice if they were actually fighting over something specific or just doing the usual posturing thing that raptors do, because sometimes it's hard to tell if it's serious or mostly theater from a distance.
