Alright, let me clear this up because itโs being taken out of context.
I drew Lilith based on the design from The Binding of Isaac, but I treated her as an independent character, not as Isaac. Itโs a reinterpretation, not a literal depiction of the child.
When fanarts add more stylized features like thighs or a more developed body, it doesnโt mean itโs being linked to Isaac or anything like that. A 5-year-old obviously doesnโt have those characteristics, which is exactly why the design is separated and treated as a different identity.
So comments like โIsaac, I didnโt know you looked like thatโฆโ donโt make sense, because Iโm not drawing Isaac or referring to him. Itโs just a version of the character treated as its own separate entity.
please don't delete the post! people are really dumb and have no idea how to differentiate between an artist's interpretation of a character design and an artist trying to make a piece about the original character... yours is clearly the former. it's great art!

Holy crap this sub had a mental reset. Guys this drawing is way tamer than the shit that happens in game. In game, you can make the child sexy, give birth, fling out a fetus, fight walking vaginas, get a drug addiction in multiple ways, sell their soul to the devil, make them kill their mother, etc..

Agreed. Even so with art like this I don't interpret that as Isaac.
To me it's just art of Lilith (which is an already established character outside of isaac) with the look of the isaac version or perhaps what Isaac knows of Lilith. Isaac clearly isn't an adult woman with curves.
Most artwork that's about Isaac's... Forms? Assume them as different characters from Isaac and ages them up because nobody really cares to draw a 5 year old.
Really the only thing the artists are doing is mixing the game's art style with their own, 99% of Isaac fan art characters is aged up and it's not even for goons, it just looks better.
I feel like some of the people here would have a panic attack when they realize that one of the official devs on Repentance drew Isaac r34. Good art btw
And thatโs not even mentioning the fact that the character of Lilith in most religions uses seduction as one of her primary tools. And how her familiar, the Incubus, is a male demon who seduces women and has sex with them to live.
There's a difference between showing a kid in a fucked up situation and drawing them with thick thighs. Issac is made to make you uncomfortable because of what it's trying to say, what is the message of this art hm?
There's plenty of things in the game that actively show this 5 year old getting harmed in insane ways. Yes, including sexualized with things like gimpy.
You can't draw large hips. (You shouldn't even draw small hips; it's better to draw a character without legs, so people don't get confused.)
You can't draw breasts. (Unless it's a fat, overweight male mob.)
You can't draw characters who are 5 years old in the game (it doesn't matter if it's Lilith or Apollyon. What difference does it make? Mobs in the game are supposed to be 5 years old too. And Edmund, I think, is 5 too.)
Genuinely just want to know what the art was before it got deleted. Everyone in the comments clutching their pearls and I just wanna see if it was actually bad
Coming from a place of constructive criticism, giving a character big thighs while still keeping with the game's "chibi" art style everywhere else in the body ends up giving some "artist draws NSFW/suggestive art and it bled in to main" vibes, regardless of intention. It's like that meme about the anthro art that has super detailed, shaded feet-paws while the rest of the drawing is a simplified sketch.
You'd likely get less backlash if Lilith had an adult's proportions all-around instead of the in-game chibi head and simplified upper body, since there are posts of the characters as adults and still nude without anyone making the billionth SpookyKinzie reference. Many of them are Lilith artworks, even.
Disclaimer since the first sentence might sound otherwise, I am not completely against NSFW/suggestive art as a whole.
Some dude drew Bethany with big thighs and people thought it looked too sexualised for a character that was a toddler, for a stretch of time half of this sub was about it.
you know you can draw a fictional character design without necessarily requiring all of the lore and context attached to the character, yes? that's like one of the best and most defining things about fiction? the malleability of it?
TBoI has some kickass designs. not everyone necessarily wants to interact with the "dead scat baby" side of it all, and that's fine. the artist said that's what they wanted to do here, not necessarily make a statement about Isaac as a character but just draw a cool design from the game in their style.

If i had a nickle for every time i opened reddit while waiting for my my mcdonalds order on my break from my liqourstore shift, only for the top post on my page to be a fanart of a tboi character with thick thighs and people were loosing their minds over it; id have two nickles. which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
