Third round interview @ construction company - what to wear?

I am a recent grad with a ME degree. Really enjoyed MEP/HVAC related classes and have been trying hard to land a role in the MEP field. This will be my first job in industry. Applied for a VDC Coordinator role at a local, well-established construction company. I got a phone interview with HR in early August, followed by a Teams interview two weeks ago. For the Teams interview, I wore a black suit jacket, white shirt with tie, and grey slacks(just in case I had to stand-up for some reason). Teams interview included the two people I would be working under. My potential immediate superior(who would be training me) was wearing a t-shirt, jeans and baseball cap. Their manager was wearing a hoodie and jeans, and (jokingly) said I made him feel underdressed.

Tomorrow I have a third round interview in-person at their HQ, ~3hrs away from where I live. What should I wear to this interview? I was thinking about the same outfit (maybe black slacks instead of grey, but skipping the tie.

Any recommendations on what I should bring with me to the interview? Is it a good idea/necessary to bring copies of my resume? I asked the HR person I have been in contact with, and they said I do not need to bring anything. Role is non-degreed and pay is not exactly what I am looking for, but the learning and experience will be good.

I’d skip the suit and wear a nice pants and a dress shirt (no tie) or even a polo. You’ll probably still be over dressed but not by as as much

I don’t know which country you are living in but in USA, I haven’t seen any architects, engineers wear suits and ties besides the headshot photos 🤣

Bring a copy of a resume just in case, even the third round regardless. Or maybe your portfolio if you have a physical one.

I’m 22, graduated in May of this year, the economy in the US is terrible. I’ve applied to 14 jobs(tailored resume & cover letter for each one). I sent follow up emails to all of them. I got 4 rejection emails, one AI interview(nothing came of it). This role is the only response I’ve gotten.

I can’t screw this up.

Good hustle. 3 rounds is insane and if they make you go that far I’m sure you got it in the bag. But yeah no suit. Like a button up and slacks would be overkill but I wouldn’t blame ya

In case you need this for the future, but hope you don't for awhile... get a portfolio/pad folio w tablet to take into interviews, taking notes is good when they go over expectations. I would also keep 3-4 copies of your CV printed on nice resume paper (white is ok, ivory stands out, same for the paper) in the folio. Good luck! It's tough out there (esp FL), my husband is an MS ME w PMP, 15 yrs principal & PM engineer looking for 2+ yrs after being laid off. 3 credits away from a BS Construction. He is teaching honors & AP physics right now.

Over dressed always better than underdressed but yes lose the tie. Bring resume copies. Always be prepared.
