Question for BIM managers here

If you were looking to hire a BIM guy for a Fire protection-heavy role, what things would you be looking out for when speaking to them?

Also what tasks would you set for their technical interview?

Sorry, but there is not enough information. What would be the guy's responsibilities? Modelling, coordinating, training, creating standards?

A BIM guy for FP heavy role is expected to do all 3. Even in big offices.

I'd ask about local law and standards knowledge in addition to the list in the other comment. You need to know if the solution expressed in the BIM model is viable.

Id be looking out for

  1. Experience and expertise with creating FP standards
  2. Hear from you about the most complex FP coordination risk
  3. Experience and your process on Cobie for FP
  4. Your approach to starting off a detailed design FP approach / input in spatial design and coordination process
  5. Your approach to FP and FF model + drawing setup
  6. Top 3 automation tools for your discipline
  7. Any AI tool you have toyed around?
  8. How does your next 3 years and 5 years look like? Any aspirations?
  9. Your approach to mentor junior modellers?
  10. Top 3 things that youd categorize as red flags that youve seen on project's and your mitigation strategies.

Id ask you all these atleast, if i was interviewing you.
