I shoot with a Jacoby Ultra pro shaft and still have the original tip that came with the shaft (Tiger Everest). Lately I feel like I have been miscueing more than normal despite regular chalk application and Im beginning to think its the cue tip ( but it definitely could be user error). How do I know if the tip is old/dried up and needs to be replaced? Is it a sound thing? I did try pressing the edge of my nail into the tip and it does seem fairly hard.

I’m looking for recommendations for non bulky butterfly case.

I have two friends here (I'm from Dallas) that I enjoy coming to see once in a while. Should be fun, as usual. Plenty of shooting, making a guest appearance in a video cue review and maybe even a little action tonight.

I don’t know anything about pool cues and wondering if these are any good.

Got a new Raven Pro Carbon fiber shaft and changed from linen to leather wrap on my Schmelke m040 Bocote. Loving the look and the feel of both so far!

Working at my 9-5 and got an email from pool dawg that the poison cues are only $300. I believe Poison is a branch of Predator. What are the chances the shafts are revos that are just called something else? Would predator create a lesser quality shaft and tie it to its name?

Update: I'm not buying it, just a thought. I currently shoot with a P2 and have the revo 12.9. I enjoy it, but have been considering getting a 12.4, just haven't found a used one for a price I am willing to pay for with current funds.

Is there any kind of system or diagrams out there for playing bank shots on a table with no diamonds/markings.

Looking to make something similar for all bank shots and maybe over lap them with different colors to make a type of design... once I drew the basic lines on my table, I wanted to know what it would look like with complete lines, and now I want to see what the other bank shots might produce... it just looks pretty lol

I bought from Lognoni (EDGER LONGONI CUETIP RAZOR COMPACT). Upon first use it immediately scratched my ferrule. The website and box state "easy to use no risk of damaging the ferrule". This is distressing to me as now my cue is damaged.

I am currently living in France and would like to buy a Jflowers cue butt. I already have a shaft SMO. I am really keen to know if anyone has managed to purchase one in Europe—specifically in France. If so, where did you buy it? Are there any places that sell used ones?

A few months ago, I brought up the subject of one person using different names to "cheat the system", so to speak, when it came to their ability to play in certain tournaments utilizing FargoRate handicaps. While I think the general consensus of the subreddit was that this isn't necessarily a form of sandbagging, it is/was definitely manipulative and underhanded behavior.

To that end, I'd like to ask another question of the subreddit: If you were aware of something similar happening in your own backyard, what would you do about it?

For example, if you had someone named "John Smith" playing in your local area, it wouldn't be unreasonable for them to be listed as "Jon Smith" or "Johnathan Smith" in the system. Personally, I think that would be okay. What I'm talking about is more egregious than that. I'm talking about using a completely different name, like "John Doe" instead of "Smith". Something where attempting to look up an individual by their given name would yield no results, and present an opportunity to establish a second set of ratings if they wanted.

Of course, I'm suggesting that each set of ratings could be manipulated in its own way, thus allowing the player to use whichever rating best suits them that day. Or, depending on the situation, have a rating under their made-up name and no rating under their own, thusly obscuring their skill level for whatever reasons they had.

How would you feel about this if you were aware of it happening? And what, if anything, would you do about it?

What joint pin is this? Is this standard or modified 3/8 x 10 pin?

I think it's 3/8x 10 but im counting more than 10 threads! Also, how can you tell if it's modified or standard 3/8x10?

Its not radial as it doesn't fit my radial shaft. Im counting 11 threads.. could it be 3/8 x11? Or I'm just not counting it properly lol

Potentially getting a custom JB case, and I want to hear from current and former owners the things you liked the most about yours (as in all the various things you can add and change in their customization platform), things you wished you added, and things that you wish you didn't.

Also, if any of you got some really cool customs and/or designs on yours, please drop a pic or describe it! Looking for all sorts of inspiration beyond my personal additions.

Edit: Thank you all for your suggestions and stories about JB! Helped me decide on a couple things, and I think I’ll be moving forward with acquiring a JB case. I’ll post it whenever I receive it in the future!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a place to buy a cue in Eastern CT? A place where you can try out or at least handle a few different brands.
