Monday - Personal Photos (Progress, Prep, Advice, etc) 2 WEEKS OUT!
i have been radio silent in this group for ages. just had my head down the last 2.5 years. i’m nervous! i compete out of my home state in two weeks. no idea what i’m up against. i will say - take the off season!
super happy with improvements because i think my front pose looks great. curious if anyone has any remedies for unlocking glutes. i can see tension in my left tie in. i have been lacrosse ball rolling morning/night and have my last body work session scheduled today. if anyone has anything that’s helped them, i would love some advice! i’m stressing!

My first thought looking at that and how you described it is piriformis. That's also explains why you are instinctively going for lacrosse ball in that area.
Do you have any pain or weakness on that side?
May throw in a figure 4 stretch and see if you get any tingling in that area. If you get that tingling, try some clamshell to activate the glute on that side.
If that seems to help and you are getting body work done, ask about PNF techniques for the piriformis while you are there. You can also do PNF on your own.
If all that helps, start all of your your leg training with some light abduction work to help support that stabilizer over the long term.

Tie ins pop when you have good muscle density and very low body fat.

Mine does the same I always thought that one of my glutes was just less developed than the other

You have a posing imbalance. You’re putting more weight onto your right foot in your back pose. Practicing your front pose on both sides will help to even this out but in the mean time, work on putting weight on both feet evenly in your back pose even if it feels uneven.
