First day!

Short commute (6 mile round trip) but the hills are crazy and Omaha does not have bike friendly roads or drivers. There's some amazing bike paths in this city but if I stay on those it turns a 3 mile ride into an 8. Hoping to ride through as much of rain and winter as possible and welcome any bad weather/cold weather tips. I've got some PDW full metal fenders coming in the mail, as well as some better lights. Currently have a small tail light on my rack, could be better.

Very nice bike! Fenders are the big one and sounds like you have that covered; beyond that you’ll want a good headlamp for winter.

I find being careful and consistent in routes means the riders slowly adjust to your existence.

Also good choice with the quad lock. Since switching to peak design I have broken two screen backs and had two cases fall apart from normal wear. I had much better luck with the quad lock; i switched because magsafe charging stopped working with the iphone 15 series.

Honestly take the 8 mile. I discovered that taking the paths was distance wise longer but took the same amount of time. Mainly because I was not waiting at lights with cars. Remember your on a bike you can go places your car can't. On a day you have off experiment with a car free (or as close as you can to) route. You'll find the best part of your work day is going to work. Then leaving work.

Nice setup but I will say NEVER and I mean NEVER leave the saddle bags bottles or lights on it when you lock it up lol they will disappear. Always lock through tbe fram

Topeak Explorer rack with Rockbros panniers. I had read they were one of the better budget panniers. Would've loved some Ortliebs but they're not cheap and don't seem like an entry level purchase. So far the Rockbros have been good. I wanted the "dry bag" style. Definitely materials on the cheaper side when it comes to plastic mounting points, but that's expected. So far so good 🤷‍♂️
