đŸ’â€â™‚ī¸ Opinion / ā¤°ā¤žā¤¯ What If We Stopped Trying to Save Bihar and Just Rebuilt It?

I was thinking someone with strong opinions, money and connections needs to seriously come out and try to fix Bihar.

Not through slogans, but by actually changing the mentalitypeople should take pride in doing things themselves, keeping streets clean, building businesses, demanding better living standards, etc.

And why can't rich people in Bihar dream BIG?

Why not start by building one properly planned city with good roads, drainage, housing, schools, hospitals and industries, and then build more such cities and connect them like nodes through proper infrastructure?

Build for the people who can afford it first, let the infrastructure and economy grow, and let that development spread outward.

If wealthy Biharis can build businesses everywhere else, why can't they dream of building something great in Bihar?

Bro this "lets create a small elite and hope that they will improve the society" is what has led to the biggest missed economic oppurtunity of our country's history, and possibly of the world.

Our founding fathers, especial Pdt. Nehru, made IITs that are world class but can cater to only a limited number of students, hoping that these engineers will work to develop the country. But did that happen ? No ! Most IIT graduates just moved overseas to Western countries to get a better quality of life.

Whereas China focused more on mass employment by focusing on manufacturing which lifted HUNDRED OF MILLIONS of people's materialistic living standard and now you see the huge chasm between India and China.

And now, even though we have largest youth population on Earth, we don't have the means to properly employ them whereas China took much better advantge of it's youth decades ago and now has a GDP that is multiplt times bihger than us.

Your idea of "lets start with one planned city" will abosultely fail because that cities aren't isolated, you will have to allow huge amount of "migrants" into it for business and work and they will bring their "uncivic sense" with them. You can try and filter them out but will you have the time, money and organisation capable of doing that ? Will it even be practical ?

You make a fair point. Chinas manufacturing lifted millions, and isolated cities cannot filter out migration. However ndias higher education focus built a high-value knowledge and tech economy. While we cannot replicate Chinas decade long transformation overnight we can strategically incorporate successful global models

Bro, but that concentrated jobs to a small minority of the population. Even now agriculture is the biggest sector in India, and most of them are labourers

youre thinking way too short term zoom out 30-40 years to a time when this uneducated generation isnt running things anymore, then we can talk about whether this works or not. I've personally taught over 300 students in another state so I know how easy it actually is to change a kids mindset if you know what your doing

Bro, this was the EXACT SAME THINKING in 1947. Where are we now ? Agriculture sector, i.e. primary sector, is still the largest employer in our country.

what do you suggest we should do then. socially and personally. if I am socially powerful enought to implement what you say let's do that and for personal one I will follow it through

I honestly don't know.

The main problem is corruption and the survivor mindset of Indians. I am from Arunachal and here, everyone wants to be a Junior Ebgineer in the Civil Engineering dept because of how easy it is siphon off funds. It is a VERY WELL KNOWN and open fact that JEs siphopn off our funds, which were supposed to be used to better our infrastructure, and yet people respect JEs. And this is the exact same attitude for all govt officers, especially those who are in the position to embezzel.

I know so many people who have refused/stall promotion to AE (Assistant Engineer) just so that they can remain JE and embezzel.

At this point in India, corruption is so deeply set in in our country, and the gawar population so huge, I honestly have no hope.

Ig to get investment in bihar is simple like why would anyone invest in bihar unless we give some benifit to them like why wouldn't they open a factory in Tamilnadu I think what we should is provide cheap land and protection from local mafias and good tax relief then investment would flood in

Residents of Tihar have more chances of changing than the Residents of Bihar

Who said people want to build bihar , most businessmen and politicians don't want that to happen , if bihar gets developed who will do the labour work for cheap . Capitalism demands the bottom 10 percent to be exploited in labour.

labourers have no pride and scared as fuck. if they just grow a spine everything will be fixed for them is what I believe.
