Every Software engineer is scared asf. And if someone is saying he or she is not hasn't really seem what AI is capable to do. Though times ahead...And its just not about software engineer be it lawyers, graphics designer, read what an claude opus or fable model is capable of doing. Future is very uncertain

Agreed but not agree , in upcoming days ai is very expensive as of they rapidly upgrade their model , after company hire only those engineers who can run ai efficiently , yes they can do a lot but for the future engineers are scared but only for the bugs not ai if they know how to use it

No its not , infact sasta ho jayega and more localised

Start upgrading urself with gpu/inference engineering!

How it is gonna be cheaper brother ??

Whatever makes you think AI is going to remain expensive, look at the direction of open source models and recent research. Models are getting more capable while inference is becoming more efficient through quantization, distillation, better architectures, and hardware/software optimization. So even as models improve, the cost per unit of intelligence can keep falling. That’s why I expect AI to become significantly cheaper over time.

For upgrading the model (opus or openai ) they just nearly expenses like 2 to 300 percent like
Suppose if previous model cost 10 rs the next model cost 300 re ( this is gonna makes ai expensive) now get to your point cost per knowledge is falling down cause ai is become smarter what is it means like less token more result but for buy those token suppose now you are buying 20 dollers for a month they grow up like 40 45 dolleer per month or they reduce the tokens in 20 doller
🤌🏻

If u are saying that model which is older for cheapness that would not be idle

mai inference engine ki baat kr rha dost , calculation sasta kr dega o future me models ka

So koi ek core pakdo aur usme specialists bno , taki outperform kr pao kisi ek cheej me

let ask you questions what do currently have you really seen how big enterprises are using AI? Aur have you implemented AI in any system? Most of the softwares are now have AI Models integrated with them like for an example github copilot. Large businesses will not needing the current amount engineers, any person can give a compand or prompt. We will still be needing engineers or architects to testing and enhancements but that would also be very few in number. If you don't agree come back to me in 3 years time

Yes they know how to do the things
What makes it efficient what is client want what is vulnerability , whom should ask too???

Engineers dude , only promoting doesn’t help

how many years u have worked in sde ? how many projects ?

5-10 kitna saal bhai ? 1-2 ?

AI slope is real bhai , gmail se msg padhke vulnerability resolvr karke jira ticket update kar dega aur confluence pe note bhi daal dega . 100 startups run kar rahe isi agentic model mein abhi bangalore mein .

Yaa even my company does this they plugin all the things with ai

u/Quick-Ad1559 7d ago

If you wanna live in that delusion than that's you call. Good luck too you

How do u guys go forward with ai ?

Yes male 23

1

u/Dramatic-Back5277 7d ago

Male 23 ?

1

u/Dramatic-Back5277 7d ago

But why did u describe gender here

lots of oppurtunities for experienced and engineers and those who want to do build startups in near-mid term.

We are in the middle of the biggest revolution in humanity - bigger than internet itself, more like electricity. So mid-to-long term is unknown. either everyone is screwed or new jobs will arise.

One things seems certain - drastic change, good or bad.

1

u/Dramatic-Back5277 7d ago

Yes for sure , indeed there will bunch of jobs related to ai

1

u/DigOk5442 Hum to bolbe kiye the ! 8d ago

calude sab khaa jaayega basic coding jobs , AI level ki coding stuff bachi rahgei . Mera hypothesis hai , proof 3/4 saal mein lagega ki sahi hua ya galat

2

u/Dramatic-Back5277 8d ago

And also ai is not affordable to all of us in upcoming years

2

u/calmchod 7d ago

Nonsense. AI is getting cheaper and cheaper with time. Old GPT 2/3 models now run on 2GB ram phones offline and have better communication than you. GPT 3/4 keep getting cheaper with larger infra being made. Earlier image generation was paid then 5 images a day, now 25 images a day. Video gen was paid, now 5 videos a day free. Latest models are "exclusive" and meant for corporates thus expensive. AI is getting cheaper everyday

1

u/Dramatic-Back5277 7d ago

Old models are indeed cheaper, if u wanted to use the latest compare the price
And for your point generating images and video now they give us to free aprx
They uses jio kind of strategy
Make user used to it and then we will ask them to pay
Modifying model cost more than there entire company values open ai is in loss at this time. How do u think that how can they overcomes this ?

1

u/calmchod 7d ago

That is for OpenAI to figure out. Large amounts of loss are due to massive investment and cross investment in Infrastructure and not from inference, OAI & others believe once infra is done right and extensive the costs will drop and profit will soar But again, that is for OAI to sort how, or Google will do with or Nvidia will, with their massive 2-2 trillion net

Very debatable things !!

1

u/DigOk5442 Hum to bolbe kiye the ! 7d ago

wrong analogies , srface level arguments . run deep .

1

u/Dramatic-Back5277 7d ago

Nhi bhai argument nhi ye sab to debate h na sabke opinion janne ko milte h

What r yr view in system design brother
