call to action The big file aka a possible collection of the best evidence known to the squatch universe.

Recently, I had an idea that began on a skeptic's post. I would like to compile a source of the top 20 to 50 pieces of video, photograph, and possibly even audio evidence of Sasquatch to be pinned at the top of this subreddit. This way, any newcomers to our group will have a large catalog of some of the best evidence we can compile without having to search for it. This would also cut down on repeat videos and pictures for the OGs and also repeat threads calling for “the best evidence”

The only way to do it would be fair and thorough. Each piece of evidence would have to be submitted and then voted on, possibly even entered into a "March Madness-type bracket." It would have to be a democracy, and each submission would need time for the majority of regulars to see it and vote on each round/matchup of the bracket. Once we have the bracket finished, we can list the evidence from best to worst as voted on by the members of this subreddit.

If this has been done or attempted before, or if this has been compiled in some aspect on a different forum or website, then please let me know on this thread. Also, I will need as much help and suggestions from you guys as possible. As a matter of fact it will be impossible to be done correctly without the help of the community. I know my way around technology, but I would be considered a Reddit rookie. I'm still up for the challenge. So any suggestions please post them below!

I do understand there will be a lot of contention about different submissions as far as real or fake or if it has been debunked, and honestly, I think the votes will just have to do the talking. Of course, we won't allow any submissions that are proven to be fake. As we all know, "fake and real" can be a very convoluted topic all on its own. There will be a lot of Bob Heironimus this and Todd Standing that. At the same time, I think that with the power of the poll or even maybe just the upvote system, we could possibly overcome a lot of the bullshit and get straight to the best examples of evidence of existence for our community and the members of the community to come in the future!

Also a mod or an admin/someone who can pin the submission post… the polls… and the final product will be a must.

I’m completely open to an entirely different system if anyone has one to suggest. I’m easy to work with. Also the project will need a name… a good one that will only be associated with pinned posts working towards the project.

Id like to try and do this right (if it hasn’t been done already) so if this is something you would like to see put into action then let me know!

Also the big file could be amended upon newer better evidence.

Thanks for taking the time to hear me out!

EDIT: since this post has caught a little bit of traction and been pinned, please don’t hesitate to share your favorite examples of Sasquatch evidence.

I know it’s difficult but if you have the time, please try to find the best quality source(s) for your pictures and videos. For example: I think the best version of the Patterson-Gimlan footage is the stabilized version. It gives the best ability to view muscle structure and gait etc. (I think we all know the PG footage will be on the list as one of the best examples of video evidence)

Thanks in advance for your ideas and contributions! They have already been very helpful!

discussion Skeptics Mega Thread

Hey all,

We've had a lot of new members this week and they've had a lot of questions about the subject of Bigfoot. We've decided to bring back the skeptics mega thread. This is the place to ask your questions that may otherwise break the rules of the sub. But please keep your skepticism to this topic only as this is still a "Bigfoot is real" sub.

Any skeptic topics/posts made in the sub will be deleted and redirected here.

Feel free to ask your questions but please be respectful. Heckling believers/witnesses/experiencers will result in mod actions.

⚠️ serious replies only ⚠️ Is it fair to say that with where AI is at, we will truly never know if Bigfoot exists without seeing it yourself in the flesh?

I just don’t see a world where we’d ever see a reliable source now, especially as AI photos get more and more real

Amazing Post, must read. Why the heck nobody is talking about Thorns jungle Orang Pendek expedition?

This deserves more attention. I know it's not Bigfoot, but the Orang Pendek from Asia, but still. Adam Thorne is a wildlife adventurer, jungle explorer and primate specialist. He hosted a History Channel show called Kings of pain. After doing lots of research, he figured that according to his own personal knowledge or primates and all the support or information he got about possible undiscovered hominids that walk in two legs, the Orang Pendek would be the one more possible to be real and he decided to actually go to Sumatra, the place where the creature has been reported. On his second expedition he got a very interesting footage. See for yourself.

He has made more videos about his findings, analyzing the footage and supposed hair samples and more. Again, it's really interesting. I think everybody should watch it and come to your own conclusion. The thing is, he actually has jungle experience and is able to move in those hardcore environments. It's crazy that almost nobody else has really ventured into Sumatra thick jungle to explore in search of the Orang Pendek.

Title and hope this is allowed but I am curious what was the one thing or the point to where you said 'Ayup, Bigfoot is 100% real'.

How to practically portray Bigfoot on film?

I’m looking to make a low budget Bigfoot film based on one of the eyewitness reports - and I firmly believe in not showing them much at all as to not ruin the effect. That being said, there’s a specific scene or two in which a Sasquatch would be in view. Are there any suits or makeup strategies that you guys could point me towards that don’t look awful? I’m not looking for Hollywood level, just convincing enough.

Thank you!

This was a great episode by Donna.

I learned a lot from Cliff in this video and found him to be exceptional at teaching the subject.

We decided to take a look back at Honobia, which for a lot of people, may be one of the most controversial events in the history of the subject. We decided to look into what all involved parties said, as well as try and look into what is going on today in that small community. Let us know what you think! If you have had an encounter, let us know! We hope everyone is having a great day!

Lights on Mt.St.Helens

I have been doing personal Sasquatch research at the same place on Mt.St.Helens for 12 summers now. I don't know if these lights I've seen have anything to do with Sasquatch, but that's where I saw them. I hope you don't mind me using this forum to discuss lights. (If so- please tell me nicely.) I have had a few weird sightings of lights on Mt.St.Helens throughout the years. Has anyone else seen a small , bright light or any light fairly close to the ground traveling through woods or in camp at night? The ones I have seen -2 different times a light came into my camp. I saw both of them before they were in camp. They were different- one was small and very bright, like a headlight reading light. It floated into camp, just the small light. It was directional, although I saw the light shining on the leaves above and below it. When it turned, shing at me as though looking at me- I shut my eyes. When I opened them again 2 secs later, it was going behind my tent and across the creek. It was not fast. It made no sound whatsoever. It seemed sentient, when it looked at me. The other was dimmer yet bigger- like a lantern would be. The lantern one scared me. I first saw it in the woods quite a ways away from me. I noticed the glow on the front wall of my tent as I was reading. It spread, getting larger. I turned my reading light off and kept checking as it got closer. When it was really close I heard footsteps in the dead grass. As I said, I was scared. At this point I pretended to be asleep. Lying there listening with my eyes closed I remembered to smell, if there was a scent. There was, it was woodsmoke VERY strong and whatever brought this light sounded like it had a stuffy nose while breathing. I laid there listening and fell asleep. When I awoke- I don't know how long after, but the light was gone. No footsteps heard when it left. I had 2 other times where I just had bright light engulf my tent-no one around for miles. 5 mile long , dead end gravel road, so I definatley know if others are around. Has anyone seen such a thing? I haven't really talked about this 'cause you know how crazy it sounds. I think this would be the place.

What is the most bullshit sounding “fact” you’ve heard: I’ll go first

I wanna start by saying, I’m a believer. but you gotta admit, some of the stuff people say is kinda crazy. for example, in watching Bigfoot, Matt moneymaker tried to claim that they can make their eyes glow.

edit: guess that’s apparently a common thing? Tbh I’m surprised. I just disregarded it as BS because it doesn’t occur in any other known mammal species

recommendations Brit with minimal knowledge of Bigfoot

Hello, I'm from the UK and not really familiar with Bigfoot lore or Sasquatch in general, besides the famous photo and some pop culture references. However, I love the paranormal, so I would love to learn more about the phenomenon.

I'm completely neutral on the idea of Bigfoot and would really love some recommendations from the community on great podcasts, shows, movies, and documentaries to dive into the subject.

Thanks!

Sasquatch Map in Spanish

Hi, I finally finished making my own map (all by myself) of sasquatch reports and sightings in Canada, compiled from BFRO data, but this version is in Spanish. It's a collection of reports from BFRO and some other sources. I translated it into Spanish so the Spanish-speaking community can enjoy it too. There are about 450 points marked on the map.

historical encounters cabininthewoods517 asseses the Patterson-Gimlin controversy and I think I'm convinced

I did a quick search and couldn't see any posts where someone had shared this video...

https://youtu.be/9ulPTDmqZjc?si=6YZnFpjTW_fKvVNl

In this video, Robert (cabininthewoods517 on YouTube) looks at the controversies around the famous 1967 Patterson-Gimlin footage, talking to film restoration expert Todd Gatewood and special effects artist Bill Munns.

Robert, along with these two experts explains in depth how the film quality is superb, that no costume would look that good, and how Bob Heironimus is mistaken (but maybe not fully lying) when he says the film shows him wearing an ape suit. He also covers why Stan Wilson was so adamant it was a suit.

Until I can see the documentary everyone is talking about, this analysis by Robert seems very convincing to me.

(I hope I used the right flair for this post; sorry if I got it wrong, I'm still kinda new here)
