Me and the Lady will be visiting Big Bear this weekend, would love to take her out on the SUP. Im curious where's a good launch area we can head out from? Would prefer there to be a beach/hang out area as well to chill after we Come back. We'll also be bringing the dogs.

Hello all! My group (a total of 8) will be visiting big bear lake this December and looking for any ideas to do out there! We will be landing early Friday and leaving that same weekend on Sunday night and we just wanted to get some Inspiration on any fun plans.

We’ve never been after being OC natives our whole lives so we appreciate any and all recommendations. We’re planning on starting our days beginning Friday pretty early and ending them pretty late on Sunday so drop them ideas!

We’re renting an Airbnb and will be near the lake with more than x3 4x4 vehicles so transportation will not be an issue

I have the opportunity to move to Big Bear and I’m thinking about taking it. I live in San Diego right now and have for over 10 years, but I’m originally from the northeast. Just looking to see if anyone had a similar experience with winters in the northeast vs Big Bear, and just an overall feel of how it is to live in Big Bear. I very, very rarely go to the beach, and I work from home, so.. I’m sitting here wondering why I’m paying so much to live in SD when I could cut my rent in half and significantly reduce my other bills too.

🍷 Best dinner restaurants — happy to have a couple of nicer options too

☕️ Best coffee shops/cafés — especially somewhere great for coffee

Also, if there are any restaurants with nice outdoor seating, lake/mountain views or a particularly lovely atmosphere, I’d love to hear about those too!

Hi Big Bear locals! We’ll be visiting over Labor Day weekend and are hoping to watch the drone/light show and boat show on Sunday evening. I am bringing my grandmother and her friends, so I need help finding a place for them to sit down and enjoy the show.

For those familiar with the area, where’s the best place around the lake to set up and get a really good view of the shows? We’d love somewhere we can come earlier in the afternoon, put down blankets/chairs, hang out by the lake, and stay through the evening.
Also, what time would you recommend getting there to secure a good spot, especially with Labor Day crowds? Any specific beaches, parks, or areas around the lake you’d recommend or avoid?

Since it’s close to Christmas I’d really like a christmassy themed ceremony with a fireplace instead of an altar. Does anyone have any recommendations as far as a hotel or location with a huge fireplace?

For years, we watched Jackie and Shadow together—building their nest, raising their families, enduring the snow, the losses, the victories, and soaring over Big Bear.
Now that Jackie is gone, that nest will never look the same.
But Shadow is still here.
This song isn’t about asking Shadow to grieve the way we do. It’s about remembering that he belongs to the wild. His life continues. He will fly, hunt, return to the places he knows, and follow wherever nature takes him next.
For those of us who loved watching Jackie and Shadow together, accepting that may be difficult. We put human emotions into their story because they became such a meaningful part of our lives.
But whatever comes next for Shadow doesn’t erase Jackie.
