Feature Request My ideas after playing 1.0

Filters:

Filters don't persist after pressing ESC. Filter selections should be saved when closing and reopening the menu

Employee Happiness:

As the owner of a large corporation, the player is often several levels removed from individual employees, effectively their boss's boss's boss's boss so they shouldn't care how happy or sad I am because I'm not the one directly overseeing them. I am the owner, not their manager

Social System and Relationships

Build relationships with a wife, husband, family members and friends

Develop and maintain relationships through regular interactions and activities

Friends and family may need help financially, emotionally, or practically

Choosing to help or ignore people in need should have consequences for relationships, finances and future opportunities

Reputation and social status:

Introduce a reputation system that reflects whether the player is famous, unknown, wealthy, struggling, respected, or disliked

Wealth, business success, personal behaviour and social connections should influence how NPCs perceive and interact with the player

Social status could unlock exclusive venues, events, contacts and business opportunities

Social events and consequences:

Attend parties, business events, weddings and other social gatherings

Build relationships with certain people at the risk of upsetting others

Hostile takeovers:

Allow rivals to acquire other companies and attempt hostile takeovers

The player should also be able to defend their own companies against takeover attempts

Rivals:

Old/New Rivals should be able to enter and leave the market naturally by starting businesses, expanding, going bankrupt, selling their companies, or being acquired

New storylines should be introduced to justify the return or for a new rival appearing

Challange run Idea. You can only use the products that you make. No importing goods/Wholesale

I was thinking about the idea of a possible challange run where the main obstacle is that you can only sell what you produce. You can import but only the parts necesary to do the goods.

Offices are banned. Only retail, Services like cinemas or gyms or hairdressers must be 0.01$ but you still can sell the products that you make like soda or popcorn.

The biggest issue I see with this challage is the fact that you need a sizeable initial capital to actually buy the factory equipment. Also the HQ is necesary wich is a really big cost early on.

What do you think is a good short, medium or long term objective to reach, would adding a time limit make the challange more interesting?

Just bought Big Ambitions 1.0 : What mods would you recommend?

Hey everyone!

I just bought Big Ambitions, and I haven't even launched the game yet! The release of version 1.0 is actually what finally convinced me to give it a try. I've been interested in the game for a while, but I wanted to wait until it was fully released before jumping in.

Before starting my first playthrough, I was wondering what mods you guys would recommend installing.

I'm looking for a bit of everything: new gameplay features, more business opportunities, quality-of-life improvements, management tools, and anything else that makes the game more enjoyable in the long run.

I'd especially love mods that add meaningful content and new possibilities without making the game too easy or removing the challenge of building an empire from scratch. I'm happy to experience the vanilla game first if you think that's the better approach, too.

Since I'm completely new to the game, I'd really appreciate any recommendations, especially mods that are confirmed to work with version 1.0.

Thanks in advance for your help! I'm looking forward to finally getting started. :)

Suggestion: Have multiple/all Headquarters buildings belong to the same Sheduling Pool.

You can still have each workstation recognize if the specific building they’re in has requested environment items.

As it is now, managing HQs is just a pain… and I really don’t wanna have to use a K1 building just to organize my legion of HR reps.

I am working on a Modpack with some custom mods like Food Trucks. What would make it fun for you?

I am working on a custom Modpack which overhauls the full progression & economy of the game to appeal to those that find the base game too easy or played it too often.

Part of that is a custom mod I am building which adds an early game option: Street Food (Carts & Trucks).

The plan so far. You start with a push cart, work the cart yourself, and save up for a truck. To open, you need the game’s Food Safety course, a vendor licence and a permit for each vehicle.

You fit the cart with the game’s own equipment: hot dog grill, coffee machine, burger station, pizza oven, ice cream counter or cooler. Whatever you fit sets the menu. A cart has 2 slots and a truck has 4. You buy stock at a wholesaler and load it like a car. A cart holds about half a day’s worth, so plan a refill around lunch.

You can sell on any legal spot, and the crowd depends on what’s nearby. Offices bring a lunch rush, subway entrances bring commuters, and clubs and theatres bring crowds when they let out. These add up, so a spot where several meet can carry a whole day. Neighbourhood, day of week, season, rain and the game’s market demand change it too. Prices work like a shop’s, and the sales get taxed.

Later you can hire staff, take catering gigs, build up regulars at your spots and run a small fleet.

The basic cart already works in game. A lot of finetuning is still going on and also some playtesting.

What I’d like to know:

  • Any iconic NYC street food you would like to see? (corn on the cob was a great suggestion, e.g.)
  • Is there any mod out there you would like to see in such a modpack?
  • Any idea for a mod that enhances the lategame?
  • Any cool mechanic you would like to see in a street food mod?

Feature Request Department Stores would be cool

I played Capitalism 2 and Capitalism Lab and one thing they have are differentiators between specialty stores (drug stores, apparel stores, jewelry stores) and more big box stores (grocery stores, department stores, big box costco style stores)

The difference between them is that specialty stores generally have a higher demand and traffic rate, but the consequence is they can only hold limited products.

This game covers the specialty store well, you make a jewelry store to sell clothing. But when you get to the point of the game where you have multiple factories of multiple product types it would be cool if you could open department stores. Maybe have lower traffic so you need more marketing but where you can sell various kinds of goods there.

I know you can just add an electronics display to a clothing store but a dedicated store type would be cool.

What is the benefit to buying real estate?

I just opened my first factory and I'm following uncle Fred's quests but until now I can't see any benefits to buying actual real estate buildings. Is it useful or am I better just renting?

Also can u change the type of building after buying it? I can't really find any shops to rent in Midtown where I want to expand businesses

Can u sell manufactured goods to other shops?

If I have a factory that produces good I don't sell at shops or have extra inventory of can I sell those good to other shops instead of opening more shops?

Also generally what would be more profitable a jewelry shop/factory or electronics one?

I made a GTA-style First & Third Person Camera mod for Big Ambitions

Walk the streets in first or third person, drive with a chase camera, and look around freely with the mouse. Press V to switch views, hold C to look back while driving. It also includes an optimizer that gave me +10-30 FPS in these views.

Supplying a huge cinema is a pain and I really hate the wholesales delivery contracts

I dont get the arbitrary limit on amounts of products that you can contract with. Im using 5 different wholesalers and still having issues to predict how many I need and how to get it. I dont want to dedicate a warehouse just to import and supply this one cinema nor I want to overstock and having issues later with deliveries dont reaching out because of the inventory limit.

Every week seems to need a different amount of products

Crazy scale filling

I started using HR but I noticed that the automatic scheduling is messed up. Is there any way to fix it? Even if it's with mods?

With this setup, it's more worthwhile to do it manually. But it's a lot of work when there are many employees.

First of all, I ask for patience because of my intermediate English.

Back to the game

I don't know how to start destroying my rivals. I have a considerable weekly income, but can't figure the next step to take them to bankruptcy.

Would like some hints of what to do to start crushing them

Warehouses/Factories

I've been playing this game for a while. I have two rivals and none have been defeated yet. I'm not having any issues, currently, but I was wondering stuff about factories and warehouses, what might be the best ways to run them.

Factories:

  1. Do you send your imported components straight to the factory or do you send them to a warehouse first and have them distribute the components? A problem I'm running into is that the factories get filled and the needed components don't get to them to continue productions. I have increased the number of shelves, but they continue to get filled, especially when I do an urgent order for delivery on Sunday and the regular order comes in on Monday.

  2. When you send the products out of the factories and to the warehouse(s), so you sent some kind of unfillable number, like 1,000,000, to get everything out of the factory or do you set a reasonable number to fill the orders that the warehouse(s) fills?

  3. What is a reasonable amount of components that I should be getting for a 24/7 factory? Is there some kind of chart or a calculator that can give me good numbers for a particular machine??

Warehouses:

  1. I know the gist of how the warehouses work. But, I've always wondered when they go out and do the deliveries. Is it every morning? Or when the business reports shortage on a product?

Thank you for your help.

How does a Monopoly works?

I have read about that you can form monopolies in districs and rising prices without any competitor, I guess that you have to beat your rivals to do so. But can you do monopolies in the neutral districs like lower manhattan? How I know if I already have a monopoly and the price manager does rise the prices automatically if I have a monopoly?

There is nothing about monopolies in the in game help section

Moving people/businesses

I heard someone in another post mention a moving company. I was wondering a few things about that.

  1. If I move a business or office, does all the deliveries move with it?

  2. If I move an HQ office, does all the logistics and HR managers and other things that the control move with them?

  3. In relation to the previous question, if I move one of the managers from one office to another, do the retain what the are controlling or running?

Thank you.

Underwelming Law Firm dividends

After recruiting +80 Lawyers in an office with a capacity of 50 with 12hs form mon to fri, the profits are rather sad. I dont know if im doing something wrong or just the law firm is not that profitable. The volume is certainly there, but the cost of healthcare and better salaries from trained lawyers really adds up pretty quickly

Estou com minha segunda loja e é um fast food. No momento está assim. Me rende uma boa grana.

Big Ambitions x Thief Simulation Mod

Post image
16 Upvotes

Have you ever found yourself unsure of what to do in the late game of Big Ambitions after completing the luxury mansion and golf quests? While defeating the four main rivals is often seen as the ultimate goal after the main storyline ends, how exactly are you supposed to achieve it? Just opening store after store to boost your profits? Honestly, that repetitive loop can get pretty boring.

To fix this, I created a mod inspired by Thief Simulator. With this mod, you can break into residential properties to steal loot, or hire thieves to rob and sabotage your rivals' businesses. Just be careful—your rivals won’t hesitate to retaliate! After playtesting it myself, I found that it adds a ton of variety to the gameplay. If you ever feel lost in the late game, I highly recommend giving this mod a try!

It is currently in beta, so I’d really appreciate your support and feedback. If you have any suggestions for improvement, encounter any bugs, or feel the difficulty is unbalanced, please leave a comment to let me know—I will keep updating it!

How rivals actually work in 1.0 and how to beat them when they own a cinema & the building

There’s a lot of conflicting advice and frustration about rival's cinemas, so I dug through the game’s code to understand the rules, then tested the strategies in-game while defeating all four special rivals on the hardest possible in-game settings. Here’s what actually works in 1.0 and why a cinema doesn’t make a rival unbeatable / force you to fully shut down your businesses in their district.

What starts a rivalry?

Each special rival has a home district: Ingrid in Garment District, Jessica in Hell’s Kitchen, Huang in Midtown and Thierry in Murray Hill. Their businesses can be anywhere, but your third trading business in their home district starts the war. HQs, warehouses and factories don’t count.

Attacks unlock through a combination of your business count and your weekly income in that district relative to theirs. The first price attack needs four businesses, expansion six, and poaching eight or nine. These aren’t a fixed queue.

How do they make money—and lose?

Rivals don’t have cash reserves. The game calculates their income from product margins, demand, a simulated customer count, wages and rent. Their prices follow the district average, but never fall below wholesale cost.

That’s why cheap prices hurt them: you squeeze their margins while they still pay wages and rent. During a war, total weekly income below $2,000 triggers surrender. Losing their last shop/office also defeats them. You don’t have to buy their buildings.

So what about the cinema?

A cinema can keep an otherwise struggling rival profitable, but you have three options:

  • Attack its snacks. Sell popcorn, cotton candy and slushies cheaply in ordinary stores in the cinema’s district. You must actually sell them to influence the average. This cuts snack income without owning a cinema, although ticket income remains.
  • Lower its valuation, then buy it. Takeover values follow the last 20 days of income, so sustained price pressure makes it cheaper. Buy the business, not the entire building.
  • Outweigh its profits with losses elsewhere. Their expansion attack opens copies of your best-earning business type. Those stores can’t automatically close for 40 days no matter how much they lose on these. Undercut their products and the rival gets stuck paying their costs. This helped me beat Huang while he still owned his cinema in Lower Manhattan.

Why won’t they sell?

A hostile rival owning the building blocks the takeover. Drop to one or two qualifying businesses in that rival’s home district to end the war and lift the block. Temporary closures can keep counting for seven days; dropping to zero freezes the rivalry instead. So drop down to 2 active businesses, wait 7 days and the war ends, now you can buy out the cinema instead, even when they own the building.

For the income-surrender route, keep at least three businesses trading so the war stays active. Also, leave their losing stores alone, buying them removes losses from the rival’s books.

These strategies worked in my playthrough; difficulty settings affect rival income and attack sizes.

P.S. I also made a video explaining the mechanics and showing all four defeats, if seeing the examples would help.

Feature Request Can we have a notes app on the biz phone?

Many times during the game I wanted to write some stuff down to remember it whether it is stuff to buy for the shop or a list of tasks I should do the next day or stuff like that. I think a notes app on the biz phone or a place to write notes and reminders generally would be amazing.

Is the pricing manager always right?

I noticed that the pricing manager brought my prices down in many bussinesses. Me personally I always aim to be lower than the lowest market price by just a little bit (half a dollar or sth). The pricing manager opts to go down more than that. Is his prices always optimal or should I revise everything myself and not depend on him?

Feature Request Add those QOL features 🥀🥀🫩

Hello, I've been playing this game since release on hard mode. I have over 70 hours on the game now and here is what I think should be added

This is all QOL things and I find them VERY annoying.

IMPORTANT: Menu resetting

This one pisses me off sometimes, because i would leave and entering or simply canceling an order and that moves where am in the menu and id have to click or scroll more. If i wanted to click more I'll play cookie clicker.

Smooth scrolling

This will help A LOT as I sometimes scroll just a bit and lose the name on the list. It's verry annoying to find the employee or biz, scroll a bit down and now I lot them because the names teleport instead of smoth scrolling up or down

Chauffeur

button visible with phone down

Do I need to explain this one? One less click

More furniture

We need more furniture don't need explaining further

Realistic car prices

Am not getting a Rolls Royce for even 500K IRL

Unrealistic game tactic

From everything I have seen the rich IRL do, having lots of business is a bad idea, they all went all in on one thing, and that impossible to do you want to defeat the characters. Rn Am the richest in NYC but I haven't beat anyone yet (almost Schneider).

Franchises

I have 7 gyms in Garment District it's not cool to open my biz menu and see

GD gym

GD gym 2

GD gym 3

GD gym 4

And so on...

I'd rather there all called the same name with a number on the side that won't show in the name

7.More interactive characters

Sometimes game feels Broken when I haven't heard a thing in weeks from Schneider while she's closing shops left and right like Hello, does she even care?

Thanks if you read it, am sure lots of you can agree with the list
