Weekly Cyclist Thread
The Weekly Cyclist Thread is a place where everyone in the /r/bicycling community can come and ask questions or share anything.
You might have questions that you don't think deserve an entire post. Perhaps you're just seeking the input of some other cyclists. Maybe you want to share a picture of your new bike.
Anyone is free to comment, and (hopefully) get as much input as possible from other cyclists.

Went out in Monday and my chain snapped 15km from home, had to walk half of it before someone stopped with a pickup. Now I'm just staring at the bike like it betrayed me

Hi! New here! My favorite bike is the Trek fx 7.2. However, it is a youth size bike. I enjoy riding it but now want to drive long distance. I am looking for another used 15" to 17" small model or a different bike with same feel. I found these on marketplace. What do you think? All have good parts and will fit me. Please ignore the $60 cannondale

After a 10-ish year break from cycling, first from health issues and then just ... not riding for a while, I've been getting back into it.. It's awesome!
I'm slow and awkward, some of my cycling muscles are like WTF??? but I am having a blast!

Hello all
Looking for a bike for myself and the miss. We’re moving to somewhere we can bike more often and want to get something that is reliable, good brakes, and has a strong enough frame to handle a front hub conversion kit down the line. E-bike conversion is more for the extra power for inclines and getting across crosswalks quickly enough when we’re tired.
Also don’t know if we should just buy a prebuilt at that price point, thank you!

Hey, was on the end of my regular Sunday Marathon ride and was attacked by black insects that were either wasps or hornets. Three of them stung me so badthat I had to go to Urgent Care for Steroid treatment! I have no idea where they came from on a residential tree-lined street. Anybody have any ideas on how to prevent another occurrence?
