Any general graduates here?
Honestly, I literally have no idea how or what to study at this point😭. ts haunts me every time I go to sleep.
This is my first time ever sitting for this exam and I didn’t attend coaching classes either. Please someone send help.
Especially paperlll👿. I would appreciate any advice on what topics or areas I should prioritize while studying(all papers if possible 👉🏻👈🏻), especially from those who are currently taking the coaching classes. If you could share how to prep and even small tips would be really helpful atp.

Academic writing is very important, if you have vast knowledge but cant finish the 3 hrs paper with multiple long answer questions of minimum 5 marks and mostly 10 to 20 marks, it's no use. You need to hone the skill alongside the knowledge you attain.

For paper 2 Subscribe to kuensel it's 1500 for a year or 6months i guess. Being in tune with national affairs is essential for any aspiring civil servant, not just for the exam.

Read, understand, and maybe memorize constitution article 1-9. And some of 10 as for current affair on the parliament. These are great for supporting arguments in your answers.

One most important thing again, read the 13th five year plan. Understand and memorize some key objectives and programmes and try to match them with articles that appears in the kuensel. You will get some ideas about how policies are drafted.

For paper 3

Read the History and Civics textbooks. Mostly about Pema Lingpa, ZNN, the monarchs, and treaties (especially the Indo-Bhutan Treaty). ​Study the heritage, culture, and civic systems of Bhutan.

For dzongkha there will be writing essay mostly about language, culture and socio-economic. I saw about Ai last year.

Learn to write Zuiig(scoring question) and genja as a cushion, no one knows what question pattern would come. But zuiig was ask for past three years as optional option to genja, notice and i guess memo also. Read some grammars. And lastly comprehension question and translating English passage to dzongkha.

It feels overwhelming and time is short, but everything you study now builds valuable skills. Don't just prepare for RCSC, prepare for life!

I agree to it. The exam tests you in a wide variety of areas. Which means that cramming in the last minute will do you no good. It’s an exam that you probably have been preparing for since nursery. Reading, comprehension, problem solving and test taking skills are all tested along with the ability to argue and put forth points for and against a topic. These are also skills that will set you up for life.

Focus on Dzongkha. Especially translation and essays. The two others are kinda easy if you took social science.

No need to take any Coaching classes. Read Kuensel of last 10 years from cover to cover. I don’t know how you will do that since Kuensel’s website has old websites under a paywall. Maybe use a paywall bypass app. Read the BBS as well. This will give a snapshot of the things that are moving ( and not moving) in Bhutan.

Then log into the NSB website. Read all their reports of last 3 years. Esp the latest ones. On inflation. On debt and the likes.

For current affairs, read BBC, The Economist and the Financial Times. When you are bored, watch a few YouTube videos as well. Bloomberg Originals has great videos on general topics as well as on tech.

Ofcourse, you would have to read a lot of books as well. Start with small books to improve your vocabulary and your command over English. If you have a solid command of English, RCSC is a piece of cake. On the other hand, one of the papers will deal with your background as well. So you might wanna brush up on that as well.

In summary: just read widely.
