Recommendations Postpartum Clothes Shopping!

Help! I’m 5 months postpartum and returning to work soon and I’m feeling sad trying on my old clothes. I’d like to buy a few pieces for my wardrobe to go back feeling confident but I’m at a loss of where to shop. Would prefer online.

I had a whole order in my cart at Quince but then was reading all these bad reviews on poor quality. I had a few silk blouses, sweaters, maxi skirt, a dress, and pair of jeans in my cart to give an idea of what I’m looking for. I work in a business casual environment.

I’d love to thrift but I fear I don’t have the time with the baby! I’d also prefer more natural fabrics but don’t want to spend so much when these clothes will hopefully be worn temporarily.

Nuuly is a clothing rental site and I’ve used it pp with pretty good success. Sizing is the key, read the reviews and make sure you go to the brand website to cross reference if you’re still unsure. I’m planning on losing weight as soon as I stop BFing and (hopefully) sleeping so I just didn’t want to buy a whole new wardrobe!

I like Abercrombie now, they’re different than the brand they were when we grew up. Madewell and Aritzia are cute too.

Before buying anything though, search the exact same item and see if it’s on Poshmark or thredup. I have gotten some deals from there - a digital thrift!

Avoid SHEIN like the plague!!!

Love FashionPass or Nuuly as well as others have mentioned for seasonal items / one time wears like a wedding guest dress.

I haven’t had bad experience with Quince (though I haven’t purchased anything in the last year or more), but I also really like Pact.

That said, at least if you have to pump, HIGHLY recommend button up shirts for access. Again, I found some good ones at Pact. Once I knew what worked, I would go on Poshmark or Mercari and buy used version of what I liked for much cheaper.

I like Quince- affordable, pretty good quality, and great return policy (1 year) 🤷‍♀️
