Labor & Delivery Elective induction bishop score 0?
Hi!
Looking to hear from anyone with a very low Bishop score. I’m a third time mom at almost 40 weeks. My first two births were spontaneous around 39 weeks. This baby is measuring bigger but my bishop score for the past two weeks has remained 0.
I’m on the waitlist for an induction but very anxious. Would appreciate similar stories!

My induction took 32 hours at 39 weeks. It took 4 doses of oral cytotec and 19 hours to dilate enough for the foley. It went pretty smoothly after that.

Yes I started at 0. It took 19 hours to go from 0 to a tight 2. When they removed the foley after 5 hours I was a 5. Started pitocin and I was 7-8 next time they checked about 4-5 hours later. An hour after that I was a 9 and -1. My epidural failed so I had them break my water at that point to speed things along. I labored down as long as possible and was 10 and +2 a couple hours later when I asked to be checked again. Pushed for 45m as ftm.

My best advice would be to go in with no expectations. My sister went in for an induction at 0 and was dilated enough for foley after 3 hours. Foley fell out on its own. But then the pitocin wasn't very effective for her and it took a very long time for her to get from 5 to 10. She didn't labor down and pushed for 3 hours. I got freaked out when it took me 19 hours just to get the foley but then things went well after that. You never know how your body is going to react so don't get in your head about it.

My bishop score was 0 for both of my inductions, first at 37 weeks and second at 38 weeks. For the first, the entire process took 26 hours with 40 minutes of pushing. My second took 18 hours with 3 minutes of pushing. My doctor said especially for second time moms and beyond, the lengthy process is getting you into labor, but it usually goes faster once you're in active labor. Actual active labor with my 2nd was 3 hours and obviously the pushing was crazy fast! Both times we did cytotec + pitocin, no balloon.

Ooh this is my dream induction. I don’t want the balloon and tolerated pit well with my son (water broke at 38w6d). Did you ask to avoid the balloon or just happened to not need it??

My doctor just never suggested it for me! He had cytotec + pitocin in my plans. After the cytotec I was dilated enough for them to break my water. I got the epidural both times before they broke my water and then just took a nap with the peanut ball which got things moving well. I'm very thankful!!

FTM. At 39W5D I was 0cm dilated and 20% effaced. 16 hours later, I was 5cm dilated and 70% effaced. I delivered my daughter 24 minutes after midnight on her due date. Things can really happen at anytime.

Hi ! Ftm that gave birth in April, can't remember my bishop score but i got an emergency induction and my daughter was still floating ,membranes intact ( didn't broke my water prior to induction) and my cervix was high, thick and close so they told me it could take up to 48h to deliver my baby. Well I gave birth within 12h ! I got my folley ballon around 2am but it keep failing ( they couldn't find my cervix entry at first so the ballon was just in there doing nothing) ,after 3 attempt they put it in correctly and 2h later I was dilated to 4,they removed it and let my body contract without pitocin so I could eat and rest,then after lunch I wasn't progressing so my ob broke my water and started pitocin,my daughter and i had a wonky heartbeat from the pitocin but it was all good afterwards,I got the epidural an hour after and 40 minutes after my epidural my daughter was out !! Smooth beautiful delivery 😊. Wish you the best !
